You should never say never. Cliche, I know, but you'll progress slowly but surely.

I was benching 135 x 10 when I started out around 17 years old and moved up to about 225 x 10 in a year or so. My max then was around 300 pounds.

I've just recently started lifting seriously again and I'm benching 250 x 10 reps, which puts my max well over 300. Unfortunately without a spotter it's been hard for me to progress any further.

Spotters make a WORLD of difference.

It took me a solid year of going from 200 to 325 on my max. It is all about consistency. Just don't get discouraged...it WILL come.

I’m 140 pounds and when I was 18 it took me 7 months to go from 120 lbs 1 rep max to 270-280 1 rep max. Didn’t use steroids just creatine and protein shakes

If your bench is 230(probably) how can you say you hit a 300 in slightly longer than a year?

This, without a spotter it's just not the same, so I stick to dumbell presses and now I only rep out 135 lbs on the bench for very high reps. I estimate my 1 rep max to be 320 lbs at 160 lbs. The most I have ever bench pressed in the past is 460 lbs at 185 lbs, but I wasn't exactly ''natty'' back then, I'm 100% natty now, and have been since like the age of 30 or something, I'm 42 now

Because it represents the most important strength level, which is the punching power level, how much you bench is closely related to how hard you can punch. In a fight, how much you can deadlift or squat don't mean much
