Hi everyone I am new to Body Building.com, I was introduce to this website by Pokarface since he has been using it for almost 2 years now. I am getting ready to run my first full marathon in November. Until now I have only done 5K, 10K, relay marathons and half marathons. So this is an exciting new experience.
So currently I have increase my mileage I am currently able to run 13 miles but need to get to 26 miles and I am trying to find the best way to do this. So I have decided to increase my running by adding one mile every week.

Hello Mona, how are you?
Fantastic!
I don't have a clue how marathon runners manage their progression, but this website is surrounded by athletes: bbers, pwrlifters, oly lifters, sprinters, fighters, football players, and more! So much reality in these forums! Stop by my juggernaut log if you have time ;-)Follow my juggernaut log @ http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=135280071

Another good podcast I recommend is Marathon Training Academy http://marathontrainingacademy.com/ ...some GREAT tips and very motivational stories.
No matter what though, get a plan in place that includes rest days and weeks where you scale back before adding miles. The Hal Higdon site is the best one I've found, but there are plenty others.
Subscribed, and looking forward to your progress!nom nom nom

Worth noting here (in case you were thinking you had to) most Marathon training programs never have you run 26 in a day, especially is it's your first one. It's about getting the miles on your legs for the week (my current program peaks @ 40 miles/week, with a 20 mile long run 3 weeks away from the race). Then you scale back the week of the race, and the 26 comes fairly easily.
It is about pacing yourself the weeks leading up to the race, not trying to do too much, and knowing when to scale back.nom nom nom
