See this posted on the misc all the time. From my IRL experience men age just as women do, skin gets saggier and etc. I've never seen a "good looking" man IRL that is 30+, then again I don't exactly hang out with a lot of 30+ year olds... What does the misc think? Always see this posted on subject that woman's looks decrease after 20s and men get better looking.

Do men really get better looking as they age?

Dolph Lundgren certainly did.
And there are loads of very attractive men over 40 - Michael Weatherly (DiNozzo in NCIS) is soooo handsome, so's Gibbs, and he's way over 40. Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee was another one.**** Atheist Alliance ****

In my case I still look verry young for my age, but chicks say I look masculine, and thats why they're attracted to me. This will only get better as I age, I think.

do you think its the subtle age lines (wrinkles) that have that effect?
i looked at my old pictures again and i swear its like my jaw is lower, sharper, and more defined now than it was 4-5 years ago.
judging by your avi, you look younger than me.

I saw a dude today, had to be in 40s with most of his hair gray, who would have no problem getting with girls in their early 20s. A big thing is keeping in shape for anyone, and dressing well. I've seen women in their 40s who are bangable too, but the population of pretty people drops precipitously after about age 25 because people just give up on working out and staying in shape, not because people age poorly (or rather their dropping metabolism catches up to their lifestyle). Obesity rates from 12-19 is 18%, above 20 is 34%. It almost doubles, and I would wager that 20-25 is closer to 18% than it is to 34%.
The one thing that age helps a man with is he gets more definition in his cheeks, as we naturally lose cheek fat as we age. That probably goes for the face overall. Men need strong features to really look good, women don't (though they aren't particularly hurt if they do have strong cheekbones or chin, unless it's abnormally so)

Men who take care of themselves.
I look at pictures when I was 20/21 and I look like a damn kid. I look much more mature and manly at 27 now. I look so much better and I'd expect to look good as I get older.
I have an uncle and a friend at the same age, 41, that have no problem getting women in their mid 20s. So whether or not being an older man is 'sexy' based on something contrived by the media or not it certainly works for us.Misc Strength Crew Founder.

This is only the case if you take care of yourself of course. Whatever they imagine you've been trough, you must look like it has made you stronger and more composed.

Women who don't age well usually did a lot of partying and things like tanning/smoking/not taking care of their skin.
Some older women are hot as fuuuu. Those are the ones who took care of themselves when they were in their early twenties and continue to do so.
The same goes for men. The saggy old ones didn't/don't take care of themselves. The healthy ones stay attractive, or get more attractive, depending on if they had "boyish" looks when they were young.

What woman consider attractive has little to do with looks. When women say older men are attractive, they don't mean the way they look but their achievements, wisdowm, power, skills, ability to see through womens games etc. Women pick up on those subbtle things from the clothes you wear to the way you walk.
'Handsome' can probably best be translated from womanese to mean 'masculine'.

I have to agree with those that say men that have a rugged look and stay in shape do very well, I think my husband at 50 is still hot as hell, we never have to wait for service with female servers in a restaurant...hee hee, and he is very gracious about it.
Women that do not stay in shape and do not take care of their skin tend to not be able to get away with what those rugged good looking older men do. Women that do are often very pretty and it shows IMO.

It all depends on the rate of physical maturity. The majority of men age slower than women, it;s a fact of life. Those guys that look like teens/kids or baby faced in their 20s and get bailed by women for looking "too young", usually end up better looking by middle age.
Look at Clooney at age 18/19 - looked like a geeky goof.
Truth is, many mens faces/features don't look mature or fully developed until they hit their 30s.

It's a fantasy men who can't get girls in their early 20s tell themselves.
Yes, there are some attractive older men and women. But the majority of men start losing hair, losing muscle tone and their faces get that saggy old man look.
But if it makes men feel better as they degrade young hot women to imagine a time when the women will be desperate and they, the men who could not pull them, will be fighting off the young hot co-eds, go ahead.
Think about it, how many times have you had to compete with an old man for the affections of a young hottie? Usually your competition is a man within your age group.

Women say older men are attractive because they 'understand a woman's needs, know how to talk to women, know what women want, etc.' That's the politically correct way of saying 'I'm attracted to his money/status'.
