    Factory restore or restomod?

I've seen some very nice trailer queen Willys in Texas. Seems in California everyone wants to rat rod them though.

Can't wait to get my next Wrangler. Owned a YJ and currently drive a Cherokee. Cherokee has 360 000 km on it with original clutch, tranny and engine. The only problems I have had are mostly body related... rot.

I love jeeps but I really despise the 3.8 v6 engine. It's a crappy caravan motor and most of the recent jeeps use them. The 4.0 inline 6 was great but the 3.8 sucks.

I'm about half way done. I need to get a new picture of it. I have the steering, drivetrain, suspension done. Only thing left is brakes, air intake/cooling and wiring. I have to buy a whole new body which will run me about $3,500.

Naw man. They still make the the bodies using the original presses. I won't have to do any extra drilling/grinding/modifications to make it fit right. Plus metal is more manly. Gonna have it Line-X'd on the underside and in the floorboard.

I can't decide what colors to do the body/wheels though.
New and improved, yet still the same low price.

first car was an xj w/ a 4.0 inline 6. I beat the crap outta that thing and it still ran strong. Loved it but had ALOT of miles and would've made a great car to rebuild and toy around with, but i didn't have the money at the time. Will probably try and pick on up in about 5-10 years and rebuild it. Willys and old CJ's are awesome though, my 3 fav jeep models are Willys, CJs, and XJs.

For sure, I was suggesting it for the rust/rot prevention. Good on you for going all out man!

i'm jelly @ ur cj7 renegade brah ^^ love those older bodies and how they look like a jeep. The ones coming off the lines nowadays are grocery getters that, unfortunately, still have the jeep name on it. I'm still waiting for them to come out with a jeep that is true to its roots. The new wranglers are looking alright and have a ton of mods available, but still sketical about how well they hold up off the pavement.

Thanks, I love the **** out of my CJ. My TJ is pretty nice though, has a little bit of creature comfort but still retains the ruggedness of a Jeep. JKs are just too comfy. I would be paranoid driving one because they are so quiet. They can be turned into pretty capable rigs, but the 3.8 is a bad starting point with poor torque/weight ratio, IMO.
