    45 minutes to workout

ok so i know that the general rule of thumb is that you stomp pumping growth hormone after 45 and your cortisol levels begin to rise. My question is does the 45 minutes include pre cardio or post cardio? and also ive seen people say that they actually get 20 -25 sets in their workout in 45 which i find almost impossible unelss your doing VERY VERY little weight.. what am i missing here guys? thanks

Just go into the gym with full intensity and get out.

    Don't spend all day there...

I'll spend an hour maybe hour and a half on the day I do arms, this includes 20 minutes PWO cardio.

And sometimes as long as two hours on legs/abs day. Again this includes 20 minutes PWO cardio.

It doesn't really matter... Just lift progressively heavier sh*t and you will be good.

I hear a LOT of people on this site saying that's broscience, so if you go a bit over 45 minutes it's probably not a big deal

    Oh God.

The biggest boost to your GH is sleeping and fasting.

Do you think that sleeping all the time and not eating at all will make you a monster?

Just train progressively in your favorite rep range, ie get your workset reps(after your warmup sets) in decent form. Reward yourself by adding a little iron next time. Repeat until you are too strong to benefit from "linear progression". Then go to a periodized program designed for guys beyond novice level.

Guys who are pumping with minimum rest between sets can hardly last as long as guys who are doing multiple low rep sets with as much as ten minutes between, altho' the latter guys are using much heavier intensity(percent of max lift). You can do high rep pump work after low rep strength, for the best of both worlds.
    Beginners:

Beyond novice, 5 3 1 or see above:)

Unless it is obvious to anyone who isn't blind that you lift weights, you might still benefit from a little more attention to big basic barbell exercises for enough reps:).

Don't worry about cortisol release....that's is a bunch of crap. It's not like at 44 minutes into your workout your body goes "OMG im catabolic" lol. Just do what you have to do....get in and get out, don't over think the little details.
