I'm guessing mine definitely has my TDEE at least a couple of hundred higher than actual based on eating results (losses and gains).
Honestly I don't see the purpose of wearing it after a few weeks as you should know your patterns pretty well by then.

I'm considering to get one of these. I am looking into getting a Bodybugg, but I am currently living in Sweden. Will that be a hinderance to me using the device? Furthermore, I must admit I'm a bit confused as to which Bodybugg to buy.
There seems to be several versions and the price is not that important to me, so I'd rather get the best one. Can anyone offer some advice?
Do I get the v3 or bodybuggSP?

Mine was bang on. I wore it in all different activity levels including days where I didn't do **** but lay there, slept all day/night from being sick, worked physically hard all day, and did my normal routine of sitting at the desk for 6-9 hours.
Also matched my Harris calculation too.
I don't wear it anymore, I got what I need. The only time I wear it is when I'm curious how much a new workout routine is effecting my TDEE.

If anyone is interested in renting their BMF for a few weeks to me, I'd be happy to pay for shipping, rental, etc. very interested in my readings as I have used it in the past with great results, but 45+ lbs heavier. Shoot me a PM!

Bodybugg
I've had one of these since 6-22-12. I've worn it everyday but 1 for the entire time.
I hate the calorie tracker portion of the program. It's hard to use and I got tired of adding things to the lists of food in the system. Eventually I started using Myfitnesspal and manually keying in my calories. As far as accuracy goes in 5 months time my food log calories vs weight loss calories was +75 Kcal. I was happy with this.
Overall I was happy with the product and will be continuing my subscription. The biggest thing it has taught me is that my workouts (strength and cardio) have a minimal impact on my day when compared to being generally active on a given day (i.e. playing in the park with my kids vs watching TV all day; doing office work vs field work; etc.). Also I have a really good grasp of my individual TDEE. BTW in the last 5 months I've gone from 247.2 to 215.1.

MAC java bodybugg issues
Yes, Apple has killed off Java 6 and 7, current versions, through their Xprotect malware facility. For 10.6.8 users, the only 'fix' I have that works so far: Deleting the XProtect source file that lists the blacklisted Java (supposedly it can also be edited in Terminal).
Using Finder, go to System - Library - CoreServices and righ-click on CoreTypes.bundle. Choose Show Contents and then go into Contents, then the Resources folder in the new window that opens. Scrolling to the end will show Xprotect.meta.plist in the list, I deleted that file and then was able to run.
Before I did this fix, i was not able to log onto bodybugg.com at ALL on my MAC

Really long thread, but I thought I'd chime in.
I think it's pretty accurate for the most part, but not that much with strength training. I work out extremely intensely, and I usually can only hit around 400 calories in about an hour whenever I lift. And when I do legs, which is much harder, and we all know burns more calories, it usually reads less. I'll usually put it on my leg now when I do legs, and I think it reads a little bit more when I do that, but still only hits around 400.
Running seems to be fairly accurate, as does the elliptical, but I think it severely under-reads the stairmaster and rowing machine. Also, if you do any type of HIIT or CrossFit workouts, I think it underestimates those. It is probably fairly accurate for the calorie burn of the workout, but it definitely does not calculate the afterburn or EPOC well.
However, on training days, (weights + cardio or CrossFit) i average 3400-3800, sometimes I'll hit 4000 on the tues/thurs I go to martial arts after (technique-based, so not physically demanding) and then have to cook after that.
Rest days when I'm sitting around doing jack **** and drinking I burn way less.
Overall, it seems to be fairly accurate, and I pretty much can predict what I'll be burning on any given day. If I cook for a long period of time on Sundays, I can actually end up burning right under 3000 calories, even though I don't train that day.

Relomy....I know this is a little bit of an old post but you mentioned the nutrition part of the website....if you use a BodyMedia armband you can connect it now to MyFitnessPal. Use MFP to input your food and when you sync your armband it will show your food entries in the nutrition (calories consumed) portion of the Activity Manager.
If you have a BodyBug....I'm not sure if it links with MFP but it most likely does.
Worth looking into.

Was gonna buy a new one of these but it seems ever since bodymedia got bought by Jawbone its been downhill. Jawbone trying to push they're less accurate activity trackers products and stop selling the bodymedia fits and I heard they won't allow any more new accounts be made.
IMO this is THE most accurate activity tracker out of all these new trackers being made now. Smh.
Too bad they got bought out so a more inferior product could take its place.Starting Weight: 190.4 lbs
