Then don't use the bmf. I upload it at 8:30 every evening and use from 8:30 the previous day to current and that is my cal total for the day. I know a general figure on what it takes for me to bulk so I have 4 meals to get my macros in before I upload it, then once uploaded I add 20% and make a meal of whatever I'm craving to reach the calorie goal.

then you'll just be spinning your wheels......and getting no where. you'll need to change it up! if your expenditure increases/decreases daily, then you'll need eat more/less to maintain at least that 10-20% increase for a bulk. plain and simple lol
otherwise.... say for example, one day you eat to your maintenance, then the next you're slightly above, then the next you're a little below... in those 3 day's you'd be essentially back at where you started at day 1. I dunno how to make that clearer lol____________________________

or you could do something like that haha whatever floats your boat.... since you wont know throughout the day how much you are expending (if you dont have the display for the BMF) then it would be useful to wait til a certain point of the day to upload and determine how much more you should be eating to be in a surplus
againn, I have no idea if that makes sense or not to you... I hope it is relatively clear, but I just woke up haha____________________________

No, I don't agree this is the only or best way. I think it seems like too much micromanaging, personally.
There is nothing wrong with just taking your average weekly burn and adding 10-20% to that. Just like people did back in the olden days when we used formulas. This is how I will be doing it. I'm not going to sit there every night and try to guess how many more calories I will be burning before midnight.
Of course, eating a little more on active days and a little less on inactive days isn't a big deal. But altering my calories on a daily basis is just too neurotic for me.

Sooo..... went hiking with my BB.. We finished somewhere between 16-17 miles on Saturday. It was GORGEOUS! I will post some pics in my log later. I think the elevation gain was around a total of 5k feet. The last five miles was straight downhill for 3200 ft. Knees are stiff for sure! Total time from car back to car was 11 hours.
Total burn: 4245, and considering it doesnt really estimate high intensity well, I am for sure it was a good bit higher than this. What's Spicy Training For?? LIFE MOTHER F-ER!

FERK YA SLOW BRO BULKIN BRAH!
I think it's weird how on a day I don't even go to the gym I almost burn as many calories as a gym day, just because it was the 4th of july and we had a few activities going on here , and i walked around for a bit to check em' out
Btw I know 27 calorie surplus -really- isn't anything, I would agree that weekly average would be better for most, but I think in my situation having a set amount that I shoot for like 2700, which it is right now, then checking it at 8 and adding yesterday's 8-12 is the best way to go. so I know every day I"m going to eat at least 2700 regardless , then once 8pm is here I know I'm either going to have a nice pre bed snack or maybe nothing at all. Army PT is going to be what really screws it up, one day we may just do a few push ups, and the next we may run 3 miles, it's different everyday. And with my job one day I may sit in the office on ******** the whole day, or the next I might have to be walking around base fixing networking issues.U.S Army Soldier

I know on the review I read about it by L. Peele, she used it while sprinting and then sprinting uphill (iirc) and it showed no difference despite huge difference in exertion. And i was going uphill far more than I was going downhill due to the downhills being so steep (meaning longer time spent going uphill.) The inaccuracy at high and low intensities was talked about earlier in this thread i believe.
The views were worth it! Will post pics tonight sometime in my log. It was sort of one of those things where we made a decision after about 6 miles to either continue or head back to the car. If we continued we knew there was no changing our mind. My dumb a$$ said "we got this, lets do it!!" Let me just say the last 2 miles neither of us were happy wth our decision. We didnt bring enough food nor enough water. there wasnt a water station until we got to the start of the last 5 miles, so we were conserving the water. I only pee'd once in the first 8 hours and my hands were swollen tight from not enough sodium. But truthfully, this is how we always seem to be.... ill-prepared but still finish and do it anyway.

Average Expenditure: 4100
Calorie Intake: 3700 for the last 2 weeks..
Why am I gaining weight everyday!? I know you have increased food in your GI tract, and excess water retention with increased cals, but shouldn't it have leveled out by now? I am not trying to cut right now, but rather get my metabolism and thyroid back in gear, but it doesn't make sense. I am wanting to start cutting next Monday, but what's the point of even having a BMF if 1) it's not that accurate for my body 2) I am not losing weight after two weeks at a 400 calorie deficit?Lift, Eat, Sleep, Repeat
