Hi,
I'm 20 years old and i need help with:
1. Workout programme
2. Advice on how to lose fat and build muscle
I will be starting a full weight training and cardio schedule on 27/06/11 after a week of warm up weight training. This wont be the first time going to the gym, i first started the gym when i was 14 and went consistently for a bout a year, then on-off for around 3 years after, so ive got a big physique but ive got a lot of fat on me also, mainly around the buttocks, thighs and stomach.
My main aim is to lose fat and build muscle, basically change my body composition. I assume telling you some measurements of myself will help so:
Weight: 15st
Height: 6 feet, 1 inch
Upper thigh: 26 inch around
Waist, belly button: 37 inch around
As of this moment my weight training schedule will be the following:
Monday
- Chest 4x6 followed by 2x12
- Shoulders 3x6 followed by 2x9
- Triceps 2x6 followed by 1x12
- Quads 4x6 followed by 2 x12
- Calf 2x6 followed by 1x12
Tuesday
- Back 4x6 followed by 2x12
- Traps 2x6 followed by 2x9
- Biceps 2x6 followed by 1x12
- Hamstrings 4x6 followed by 2x12
Thursday- The same as Monday
Friday- The same as Tuesday
It will be a push (Monday & Thursday) and pull (Tuesday & Friday) exercise routine, i dont know if this is beneficial or not. I think doing low reps/high weight will be good for strength training and high reps/low weight will be good for endurance training. Also i will be starting on 500 sit ups a day varied across the day then increasing the reps.
My cardio schedule will be the following :
Tuesday - Sprints: 6x 40m 2min rest inbetween each and of course i will be increasing the amount of sprints when possibile.
Thursday - 5 a side football for an hour
Saturday - the same as Tuesday
Ive researched sprints and theres great reviews for them in losing fat and there much better than long distance cardio for fat loss so i will definatley be doing these sprints and im athletic so i think i can keep up with the demands of sprinting.
Do u recommend a sprint training for fat loss?
My diet will consist of:
5-6 small meals each day
200g of protein each day
Minimal carbs
High fibre
Max 1500 kcal
Is this a good schedule for fat loss and muscle gain?
Is there anything else i should be doing to help fat loss and muscle gain?
Any advice or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
