I have been gaining 8lbs over the last 11 weeks and have been generally pleased with my gains, when i start to hit a certain weight my stomach seems to explode and appear bloated....is it water or fat? how can I break through this plateau without losing my muscle mass, but also getting my stomach back in line?
current intake
2600 cals
230g carbs
120g protein
60g fat.

If you have to ask, you're just too fat and need to cut.
"Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." I'd be willing to say that 95% of people on this forum accomplish nothing in years, don't be one of those people. It's sad, they seem to have the knowledge many don't but can't utilize it.

If you are progressing from a cut to a bulk then for the first week or 2 you will be gaining extra water weight and also weight from teh extra food going through your system. Having said that, your maximum muscle gain is 0.5lbs a week assuming you are doing everything perfectly and are completely new to lifting, so more realistically 0.25lbs of muscle a week. Therefore gaining more than 0.5-1lb a week in weight leads to excessive fat gain.
