Ed is a good man as well as a wise man. What he said is key, it all starts from the inside. I miss him and hope he's well.

Agree, I still speak to Ed on the phone from time to time and we exchange emails. Seeing him compete with Bill (Baldie) was awesome but sitting down with the two men and having dinner with them was the best.

I met Ed Cook at a show in Vancouver, Washington. Very down to earth and humble guy.

He is also one of my inspirations. To be able to get from where he was to where he is is a great example for all of us "older" lifters.

That's easy to say when you're not aware of how the forum has changed over the years (not for the better)
People leave for a reason and most of the time these are respected knowledgeable and well liked people who are an asset to the forum. If nobody cares why they leave then nothing changes and you end up with a less then informative place for people to come, where instead of being helped they are being chased away by unnecessary bullying and disrespectful behavior.

Good post. I think unfortunately this happens in most forums if they stay active long enough.

When my Over 40 Transformation feature ran on BB.com last summer, OldSuperman took the time to PM congratulations to me and put a friends request on my BodySpace.

With all of the irons he has in the fire on this site, that just blew my mind. Popps is a class act for sure.

Never saw that occur. He posted infrequently, but his posts were nearly always in the O35.

If nobody cares why they leave then nothing changes and you end up with a less then informative place for people to come, where instead of being helped they are being chased away by unnecessary bullying and disrespectful behavior.

I understand that. Yes, when someone like him leaves, the affects will most likely not be positive. OTOH, I do not have the time to speculate if I, or someone else did something to "cause" someone else to leave. Secondly, I am not going to spend a lot of time pondering it.

People can choose to stay and support the traditions they once felt were worth the time, or they can leave to find a place they like better. FWIW, I doubt very seriously you will find a more supportive, and informative journal forum on the net, than can be found in the OV35 section. This is just my opinion.

I understand your opinion but disagree with the bolded part.

That you can post crap like this, chastising the masses, and you did it earlier with regards to Marius as well, yet you can be (not always, but you can be) one of the nastiest and most disagreeable people on this forum.

    Seriously.

    That's possible.

But it doesn't explain why I got 3 PMs in one week from regular members wondering wtf was up with you.

    100% serious.

Truth is fine. Nastiness is yet another thing.

    It's all in the delivery.

You speak of respect, yet I rarely see you show any to others.

Also, I'm mature enough to deal with all the members of this forum, including yourself, without having to resort to the 'ignore feature', but thanks anyway for the suggestion.
