How viable and how safe is this floor press variation?

For those that, unfortunately, do not have a power rack.

Would it be better in the Ez curl bar rack? Or would that break? I'm talking bench 350-450 range.

Doesn't seem too bad with a handoff or two.

I used two benches instead, so you can get in a better position instead of pulling in that far.

I used two buckets filled with cement(also has wood in them for my squat rack) and I did it off that. Lets just say unracking sucked. If I want to do any sort of bench press varient then I have to do it laying down.

I need to buy a quality bench, I have one in a box but it won't hold a lot of weight.

Interesting. We actually only have two "free" benches to use, it'd be difficult as the built in benches are different heights than our dumbell benches. I shall experiment.

I'd have a spotter, but I see what you're saying. Thank you!

With a handoff or better two man... sure why not, but you better trust them. However, doing your own liftoffs is really hard on the shoulders and can cause injury.

I actually considered this, but most guys at my gym bench more than they deadlift, it's a shame.

It'd be difficult to get someone to deadlift 400 pounds to me. Possibly two people, one on each end?
