Which characters do you use brah?

Akuma is main but i can play the shotos + sagat pretty well. also like sakura (<3 her mixups). for next few weeks i'm probably gonna be playing the twins/e.ryu and oni though. if you wanna have some akuma/akuma mirror matches though and start learning him i'll play you anytime you want bro. i'm still adjusting to a fightstick so my skills are still scrubby

Updated: If you do a search on the PlayStation Network Store for "Arcade Edition" you can find the PlayStation 3 version of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition available for purchase. As of the time of this writing, you couldn't get this DLC package by going through the Add-Ons option.

This may not be available in all territories, but it currently works for customers in the United States.

Earlier, Capcom Europe made a quick announcement that SSF4 AE had been delayed a day, and will be released on Wednesday, via Twitter. It read:

Sorry just been informed that SSFIVAE is available from tomorrow on PSN, a few issues on scheduling. Apologies.

No word on if the delay is just a Europe thing, but it's worth taking a look to see if you can grab the game now.

ok just installed AE and have been playing around with twins. yun is freakin beast mode. fast as hell, bnb combo does ungodly damage + stun. yes scared to fast yuns online. few things i have discovered so far:

-yun is beast mode
-yang can combo into ultra from ex-slashes in corner, so you get an ultra that can be hit-confirmed into for just one stock of meter. AWESOME

im gonna try out oni and e.ryu...but not sure if they fit my style. I heard E.Ryu is sort of like Akuma but without his vortex which I like. Oni seems to be more like Gouken than Akuma so not sure about him either.

The twins and fei are straight up rush down characters which i like so def giving them a shot.

Edit: Oni does have an air dash...an air demon and a ground demon...

Update: Some people were having problems understanding the concepts in this video, explanations on how Plinking and Option Selects work have been added to this story, just hit the link below to find out more.

Uesugi has posted a tutorial video showing how to do Tech Throw Plinking, Double Plinking and True Double Plinking.

This is some pretty heavy stuff, so you may have to watch the clip a few times to grasp it, but it can help your game if you're struggling with Crouch Tech Throws and 1 frame links.

Understanding Plinking

Plinking is basically entering two button presses at almost the exact same time — with just a 1 frame difference. So if you pressed Medium Punch and 1 frame later pressed Light Punch the Input Display would look like this.




Again, for this to work right the button presses must be done in VERY quick succession. A 1 frame difference is 1/60th of a second, so to the casual observer, it would look like you're hitting both buttons at the same time, but there's a slight difference.

Plinking gives you one more chance at hitting the correct timing window for combos, because instead of the game reading your input as Medium Punch and then Light Punch, it reads it as Medium Punch and 1 frame later — Medium Punch again.

This works because heavier button strengths have priority over others. If you press Light Punch and Medium Punch at the same time — Medium Punch will come out.

Why is this a big deal? Some of the combos in Super Street Fighter 4 require a 1/60th of a second timing window. If you're slightly off, your combo won't land. So instead of having just one chance at landing a difficult combo, Plinking gives you one additional shot to land it, essentially making the window 2/60ths of a second.

Timing is still EXTREMELY important, but this technique helps when trying to land difficult combos, and it's used by many of the top players around the globe.

Just found out that the Disc version of AE will be able to play against people with SSF4 version..the game will revert back to SSF4 format even though you have the AE Disc.

I'm guessing the Disc version will be 30-40 since its basically both SSF4 and AE..depending on who you go against online.

So with that said, I might as well just pay the $15 bucks DLC. When buying it as a DLC, you have the choice as a menu which to play..but online will use the same rule as the disc.

Desk has put up a day 1, for the consoles at least, combo video for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition's Yang. Desk states that he wasn't fortunate enough to play AE in the arcades, so this is the first day he's had with Yang. Wow.

Hilarious! Same two moves for 20 years and people bitched enough about Guile to scale back his damage... /rage

Although I am happy to see that they gave Dan the necesary standard attack damage buffs he needed to at least hold his own in a match. Scaling back the safe frames for his Ultra2 don't matter much, since it's a ****ty Ultra anyways. Thankfully they didn't do him raw with his Ultra1 like they did from Vanilla to SSF4.

Disc will probably be $40 no cheaper..could be more since essentially youre getting both ssf4 and ae. You can do what galindo said and get the game some where really cheap then get the dlc. gonna get this later today.

Well the DLC is at $15 and the Disc theyre selling is essentially both SSF4 and AE so dont think they will sell the SSF4 any cheaper than $20..thats why I'm guessing it might be $40 or more for the Disc.

I want to buy the Disc too but at this point, it looks like its a lot cheaper to just get it as a DLC..get the game cheap then pay $15.

Theres no announcement yet on the actual price so up to you if you want to wait..I cant lol.

Oni is pretty sweet, he's not on that akuma ****gy time (inb4 akuma players) but meh...I want more original characters. Brb barely tweaking the moves and changing the characters skin.

I rarely play anone besides Ryu, but if I do I play Akuma or Sagat.
