    Daily sugar intake?

    How many grams of sugar do you take in a day when on a cut and does it matter?
    I'm currently taking in about 30 grams a day from veggies, protein shakes and 0% fat Greek Yogurt. Is that too much?

    I don't really count. I don't eat any kind of sweets (except for one day every 2 weeks I do a cheat/carb up day.. but still under maintenance). Only carbs I get are from non starchy vegetables and stuff like flax.

    Yeah I don't eat sweets either but I just decided to add "fiber one cereal" since it has a lot of fiber in it and I was lacking that apparently in my diet (15grams of fiber in one cup) but it also has 6 grams of sugar in it so I decided to count all of my sugar intake from veggies and stuff and it came out to ~30g/day and I got kind of curious as to what the limit is, if there is one.

    You could always just get some Metamucil or something like that. The amount of sugar in it is lower than cereal and has more fiber. I take it from time to time.

    I'm also taking that lol
    With Benefiber (or Metamucil, practically the same thing) and my normal diet I was only getting 16g of fiber.. I wanted to at least aim for 25 grams a day so I threw in the cereal.

    Well I think fiber is essential to a diet so that's why I wanted to take in more than 16 grams. I read somewhere that the recommended daily intake should be around 25-30g

    Well, I don't think the sugars are that big of a deal, especially cause they seem to be coming from a non-processed source like grain and such. If you can actually stomach that cereal then my hats off to ya

    That's perfectly fine... even a little low. The sugars found in yoghurt and veggies are healthy and absorbed slowly into the bloodstream.

    sugars from eating some fruit, or natural dairy/carb sugars are fine.

    sugars such as "enriched sugar" or white processed sugar and high fructose corn syrup from candies and sodas should be avoided.

    Thanks guys. A quick search on here took me to threads started back in 2002 and they said the same thing. I just wasn't sure if those facts have been disproven or not.
    One thread I ran across suggested 100g of sugar a day! I think that may be too high..
