Thumbs up BodyCraft F430 Power rack review (the 2011 model)

I finally received my BodyCraft Power rack today.

    Delivery and Packaging:
The delivery was smooth and first thing I noticed is that the packaging is very well done. Each bolt, nut etc., was in its own separate bag and nicely labeled so you knew where all the parts go. The delivery was quick, 3 days and 1 day due to the Freight company scheduling the day.

    Parts and Quality:
The quality of the Bodycraft is definately very good. I have seen the Powertec Rack in person last week and have owned Powertec equipment.... it's comparable in terms of the metal, except the Bodycraft have thicker and wider metal since it's 2x3 bars. For more money, I guess it should be a bit thicker metal. I mention this because these are the two racks I was deciding on before and it seems to be a very popular debate around here. The F430 bolts and nuts all fit perfectly with no issues. The bars were very sturdy and strong. On the Powertec, it felt a bit lighter, hollow and thinner from what I saw on the Powertec WB-PR10 model. Also, the coating on the Bodycraft feels better. The F430 feels and looks like a tank. There's so much space inside the rack and definately feels like it has more depth the way it's built. On another note - the only two flaws that I've seen so far with the rack is that there's no numbering on the holes and the plastic piece that holds the safety bars is a bit cheap, but this is me being very picky. I have read complaints on the pull up bar being smooth, but I didn't feel like this bothered me at all. I think that both racks does the job, and aside from those minor things, are very comparable. I still prefer the look on the Powertec rack, but I believe I would have been happy with either rack.

So it's all about preference, what's important to you..and how much you're willing to spend....I got mines at a really good price of $569 w/ free shipping and free dip bars with a coupon. So the decision wasn't hard when it was only $120 more than the Powertec at $449 w/ free shipping. The $120 to me was worth it for the free dip bars, a straight pull up bars, life time warranty and snap pins.

On another note, this rack is the newer model so there was no problems with the hooks as mentioned in so many of the previous threads. I guess Bodycraft knew it was a design flaw so they added hooks outside the rack which wasnt in the older models. They designed the hook to be on the saftey bars so you could easily work outside the rack and having one extra pair helped me cover all sides inside the rack. (see picture)

Customer Service: Excellent, emails were almost immediately answered within the hour or so. They even called me to tell me the status and provided tracking.

    Overall:
I'm so far very happy with the rack, I started doing exercises and it's solid. I even jumped on the pull up bars and swung myself back and forth and no problems at all. I'm about 170lbs and the rack didn't budge. It was definately a good purchase and I'm glad after all the debate, I got a rack that suit my needs.

Any questions are welcome! Hope this helps with anyone looking to buy a Bodycraft F430 Power Rack.

A shout out to those who helped with me making this decison. Keetman, and others have been very helpful!

    The Bodycraft F430

Congrats and thanx for the review!

Good to hear you are happy with your purchase.

This rack was at the top of my list, but I ended up ordering the Powertec for various subjective reasons.

Not easy ordering something you can not try out when living in the middle of the ocean Hawaii.

The experienced community here was definitely helpful

I'm sure you love your rack. I was definately impressed with the Powertec when I saw it in person. People complained about the pull bars on the Powertec, and I thought they were fine for me. So everyone's opinion is different. I was able to do 10-12 pullups at the store on the PTec. But thanks for chiming in.

Man, that carpet sure does look nice.

Rack looks really nice, you will love it. How tight are those hole spacings?

Haha, thanks. I'm not sure, but I think they are either 1.5" or 2". I have to check, I believe there are 28 holes on the rack.

Hey there were a few places that sold them for 599 last week and offered a spring coupon which took off a few more dollars. Bodycraft sells their equipment through distributors.

I got mines from bestbuyfitness, but you can get them also at fitzz.com and other outlets for the same price. Not sure if there are any in stock. Good luck!

Nice looking rack, I think the 2 sets of J-hooks is definitely the way to go on that style. Good review too dude!

ah nice man i have the older model i didnt even know there was a newer model until this post. The extra hooks on the outside is alot better good find. I personally hate the pull up bar and wish there was something i could attach to the top of my cross over bar with angled down handles to do my pull ups but no big deal ill manage. Dont know if you got the bodycraft FID bench to suit but i highly recommend it

    Thanks for the review!

I got mine delivered this morning and noticed it said 'v2' on the box. I was pleasantly suprised to see the external hooks attached to the spotter catchers which has saved me a few quid.

Do you have an oly bar, or just that EZ? Why can't you deadlift in there?

I can't do overhead presses in my rack either. I guess it would be nice if I could, but then the rack would be too tall to fit in my basement, so no biggie.

7 foot olympic bar. I mean I could, I'd have to move the safety bar and hooks all the way to the top to do so.

Congrats on finally getting your rack. I'm glad to see the put those hooks on the outside, it was a definite improvement and now this rack is pretty much identical to the Parabody (out of business) that people have discussed in the past. You have a really good setup, I'm glad you're pleased.

As far as the deads, yea, you have to move everything up...but the beauty of this rack is that with the pop pins you can have all the hooks and both safeties out of your way in less than 10 seconds. That's not really a lot of time to sacrifice really. Personally, I just did the dead out of the rack as I saw no benefit inside, but I realize some people may not have the room.

Anyway, good luck and glad you got what you wanted.
