Eating a well balanced diet is the key. Bodybuilders, however, may stay away from certain foods such as dairy and fruits which may cause a deficiency in which case supplements definitely prove to be helpful. The thing to remember is supplements are just that, to supplement your diet regimen. They are not the be all end all by any means.
I am glad to hear that you have noticed no difference, so your eating must be on point in which case th emoney spent on supplements can now be better utilized elsewhere.www.mattcena.com

Supps = that extra 5% to HELP gains.
Eat food, lift HARD, sleep deep = gains. The rest isn't NEEDED, but merely may help. If you don't want supps, just don't use them.
So many threads these days on asking silly questions about will this make or break my muscle/strength/body. Not enough heavy ass weight.

I'll be 35 at the end of June and only have been taking supps. for 6 months. They make a world of difference for me. As a 17 year old, you should focus more on diet. If you have energy problems, you probably should look into a non-stim pre like Pump-bol or something like that. Protein, Creatine, Fish Oil, and Multi is really all you need though in my opinion. NO NEED TO TAKE TEST BOOSTER IF YOU MIGHT HAVE THAT THOUGHT IN YOUR HEAD!

@ Everyone that went into rage mode, I'm not bashing supplements. I think you misunderstood my OP. I was simply curious as to how they worked for you. Sorry if that got you all mad or something. Lol @ the all the negs I got.
For the people that helped, thanks. Again, I was just wondering why I haven't really felt any difference with or without them.
After looking at the supplement reviews on leangains.com I was looking at supplementing with vitamin C and vitamin D ass well after giving a run through supplements another time. Just to see how they work out for me, anyway.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19493303 ---- (vitamin C on fat excretion)
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19099204 ---- (vitamin C on testosterone)
http://cjasn.asnjournals.org/content/3/5/1535.full --- (vitamin D on health and disease)
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19346976 --- (vitamin D on atheltic performance)
Also, anyone on ZMA?
