Not doing anything wrong. Practice makes perfect. As long as you are adding a little weight to your lifts over time you will see muscle increases and lifting increases. it takes time! I started deadlifting around 250 for reps back in May and I am up to 405x2. Same things with rows, I started at 115 at 5x5 and now at 195 5x5. I also rotate underhand and overhand each week.
    So Say We All!

Depends what i want to hit, overhand with a shoulder width grip while parralel would be for the rear delts. If i wanted to focus more on my back ide go wide underhand grip while a little more upright.

I saw a guy doing 405lb barbell rows next to me while I was deadlifting.

The guy tore his bicep right in front of me. At the time, I was new to weight training, so I didn't understand what happened.

He was obviously very strong and big..

Found out it was the underhand grip ;p

This doesn't mean it will happen to you, but I'm just saying.. I literally saw it happen right in front of me. lol

I started with underhand, but then I switched to overhand to try and reduce bicep activation as well as just trying something different. I haven't gone back to underhand since (though I'll definitely give it a try again and compare). Another positive reason to do overhand is that it helps simulate the negative part of your bench press. At least it does if you practice tucked in elbows (more of a powerlifting bench style).

I switch it up sometimes, I usually do underhand rows for a month or so, then I switch it up to overhand rows. I discover that underhand rows hit more my upper back (traps & rhomboids), and the overhand grip hits quite alot the middle back. Rows always give thickenes to the back.

Overhand for me... Most people do too much weight and use too much biceps.... I do 180 lbs or so and use perfect form

Once you get close to body weight then english needs to be used, too much risk going underhand for me.
