Supplements and Drug Tests

So sometime for my career I will need a drug test and I was wondering if any of the supplements that I take would show up. I take Hydroxycut Hardcore, Flax seed oil, Muscletech Celltech, NO Explode, Whey Protein, Casein Protein, and Modern BCAA. Anyone know about them and the effects on a drug test? Reps for help.

I would not recommend Jack3d. I'll post again after I eat

Ya I would go for different items also personally. Some good preworkouts are WhiteFlood, Ultima, Pump-bol. The latter two are non-stimulant preworkouts. I would just stick with straight creapure micronized creatine monohydrate such as allmax or optimum. Good multis are AOR, LifeForce, and orange triad. Orange triad also has joint support. That covers your preworkout, creatine, and multi.

Gaspari Anavite, Controlled Labs Fish Oil, and the cheapest creatine mono you can find. That covers your basics. For protein, Myofusion or UP 2.0 are great choices. I also really enjoy SizeOn for an intra workout.

Other then that you don't really need anything else. Maybe fish oil and if your cutting then a multi. If your bulking or even eating maintenance your pissing your dollars away on a multi.

Edit: Those will not cause a positive drug test. If you need to be reassured without asking your trainers because they'll tell you creatine is banned....then go to drugfreesport.com. You can send an anonymous email to the NCAA. If it complies with them it's pretty much safe everywhere.

Well as for my goals. Right now I want to cut down to a lower body fat while increasing strength and size. I dont want to get too big because my career requires a great range of motion and I need to be able to reach behind my back pretty far. I will be stopping hydroxycut as soon as the bottle is finished, and won't be getting more of it. Lol. I figured, I paid for it, might as well use it. Same with my current stack. I really prefer the protein I am taking now and dont want to change it, unless someone presents a valid reason not to. The others however, pre, intra, and post are all open to suggestions and recommendations.

Unfortunately I have such a busy lifestyle that I do need the protein mixes since I dont have enough time to eat all the meals necessary. I am a firefighter, UPS supervisor, Full time student and father. Getting 8 hours of sleep is hard enough, let alone being at home enough to make a meal. I do make my meals, I just sometimes don't have time to make enough. I never eat out. I know the casein isnt needed but I like drinking it before bed after I get off work since its the slower protein.

If you enjoy your flavor of whey protein by all means keep taking it. Seriously that is really the only reason with sticking to something.

If your cutting down I suggest AlphaBurn or something like Triazole that will help kick in the strength on a cut.

I would suggest EC but ephedrine is banned by the NCAA as a performance enhancer.

I personally use Super Pump Max for a pre, but only days I am tired and not already stoked to hit the gym. Intra is SizeOn. A good multi and fish oil should ALWAYS be included.

Don't worry about getting "too big". It wont happen unless you make it happen.

Yeah, I feel ya. No need to waste money. And as itzDodge said, no need to change your protein if you like it.

Take a look at Ultima, Pump-Bol, White Flood and Rage for a pre. As far as an intra, keep an eye out for Strive once that's released. Whey for post will be fine.

You need a multi and fish oil. For a multi, check out Ortho-Core if you have some change to spare, Orange Triad is also a great multi that also contains both a joint and digestive complex. Life Force is a good budget multi. Check out OxiMega for a great fish oil.

As long as you're hitting your macros, you're fine. Your schedule does look damn busy though.

I don't play an ncaa sanctioned sport. I play rugby for our states division 1 rugby team and we don't get drug tested. Would is ephedrine banned in general or just by the ncaa?

And I do love the taste of my Whey and casein. They are pretty much my treat of the day. I don't always hit my macros but I do my best.

Ephedrine is not banned in general, there are many ephedrine products on the market, such as Bronkaid, which is usually recommended around here.

Any pharmacy like CVS or Walgreens should have it. Need to be 18+ so bring ID to purchase. Ephedrine itself isn't illegal but is banned in most sports for its performance enhancing abilities. I suggest that if you take it while playing to be properly hydrated and maybe look into oral nitrates. Like Pump-Bol for example.

You should switch the flax seed oil for fish oil though, OxiMega is a great high EPA/DHA choice. For the creatine mono, AllMax has 1000g for $20. Great price. It will last you at least 200 days.

Since you seem pretty adamant about the casein, I would at least switch it to a blend.

I mix the Whey with 8oz of skim milk and two strawberries and the casein with 12 oz skim and a serving size of peanut butter. They are both delicious.

I always hear mixed reviews on strawberry whey. Good to hear you like it.

If you ever happen to get the urge to try out something different, I would recommend taking a look at XF Ultra Peptide 2.0/Whey or TruNutrition Trutein as those are said to be delicious.
