Squats are really tough for me to perform correctly, so when I don't do squats I do leg press (only have a vertical one right now, but have used the hip sled and the seated leg press before) on seated I can do close to 400lbs, and with the hip sled I can go up to about 330. Thing is, the only leg press I have right now (I work out at home) is a vertical one, and I can only do 300lbs max on this one. really hard to perform because its super hard to do compared to the seated leg press any tips?

Yes, but rarely, I use the squats more often....unless you are cheating you shouldn't be able to do 300lbs...by cheating I mean you aren't unlatching the sides and letting it come all the way down. If you are doing it right, you only think squats are hard for you, get over yourself mentally and you should be able to do squats easily...start with lighter weight, and go parallel.

I don't see the point in a vertical leg press. I thought the whole point of the leg press was to avoid spinal compression. How are the seats set up on these anyway?
Also, since you can't use as much weight, that would make microloading a lot harder on these. I guess it's a plus for not spending a lot of time loading the sled... sort of...

What do you needs tips on? It's a freaking leg press, lower the sled and push it back up, it isn't hard.

It'd be easier if he explained what was hard, like what was having pain or failing on him first. I like the angled leg press. I have less fear of it.

I find it amusing how the two guys who quote this picture have personalized titles that in tandem could be taken as homosexual slang.
