It's a close match between Counter Strike and Battlefield 2.
Played competitive Counter Strike 1.6/Source for years... on the other hand sniping in Battlefield 2 and not being seen for hours was hella fun. Both games are top of the FPS food chain.Make Misc Great Again

The original Call of Duty....it was PC only and fukking awesome. Used to play competitive when I was 13, didn't stop playing until about 15. Bolt action ftw. Now we have this bullsh*t sellout Call of Duty series.
I don't want killstreaks, dogs, leveling up etc. Give me a gun to pick from, a pistol, some grenades and lets go at it based purely on skill.
CS1.6, CSSource and Day of Defeat are great too.

I know its not online multiplayer, but lettuce be cereal for a moment. If were gonna be talking about the best multiplayer fps of all time we should bring up the game that pretty much made the genre worthwhile.
