just compare top female athletes in any sport to top male athletes and the male will 99% of the time win...the problem is if you say women cannot do certain jobs like carpentry because it is too physical your teacher will say there are women carpenters

obviously there will be exeptions to the rules but we are talking about an average women vs an average man...an average man can handle that workload whereas most women could not

Almost everything on this list isn't things women can't do... it's just feats that men have accomplished in the past due to a predominantly men run society. Kind of a weak argument... you guys need to step it up. Especially if OP is supposed to present this in class or something.

This is the argument that op will most likely hear in class. The reason why men have been able to do more than women is because women have not been given the opportunity. The truth is that if women were equal or similar or more intelligent they would have made their own opportunity. They would not have needed the approval of men. Since the beginning of time men have ruled the earth because men have been superior. Its like saying the only reason a certain "Superior" country has accomplished so much is because they have not allowed the "inferior" country to accomplish things. If inferior country was as good as "superior country" it would not need permission or opportunity from "superior" country.

I love women. I hate feminists. Women and men complement each other and each have their own place. Physical Strength/athleticism is not one of them for women. that's really allthere is to say.

Go through the olympic records and find the women's records in all categories, then add +1kg on weighted events, -0.01 second on timed events, +0.01m on measured distance events etc etc.

Genuinely interested on being educated if there are any events where the womens division is better than the mens.

Women tend to actually be equal to men in strength to mass ratio when trained. You'd have to look at the stats of each athlete. A pound of muscle on a woman is the same for strength as a pound of muscle on a male. You guys are able to generate more muscle because you have 25x more testosterone. Additionally, males have higher VO2 maxes based on nature. Big freaking deal- if you don't train to that potential, it really doesn't matter.

Yep. Team Canada's olympic women's team trains a circuit against AAA 16 year old boys for preparation going up to the Olympics, and the games are always competitive. That's the thing people don't understand. Wickenheiser will skate circles around chicks on the women's division and at 5'10", 185lbs, she actually has more size than some men who play pro hockey, but there's still physiological differences. Upper body strength is the most obvious of these.

They're not comparable in many cases. For example, in the hammer through, the hammer is heavier in the men's division than the women's, so comparing the distances is meaningless.

There are inherent differences. The actual amount of contractile tissue within the muscle and composition with respect to fiber type.

Less type II fibers so ATP is hydrolyzed less quickly, cross bridges are slower to form so there is reduced shortening velocity....longer to reach isometric tension which also has a lower maximum.

All else equal, greater shortening velocity = greater force generation. But finding a female with the same potential for fiber adjustment (type and number) as male, is not using the best male possible. trollface.pdf
