    what program to use

    im 19 years old 6'1 170lbs my goal is to get to 200lbs.

    i have been doin upper/lower splits

    mon-upper(bench press,rows,military,bit of bi/tri)
    tues-lower(squats,dl,leg press, calfs)
    wed-rest
    thurs-upper
    fri-lower

    and i was thinkin about switchin to
    mon-chest/tris
    tues-back/bis
    wed-rest
    thurs-legs
    fri-shoulders


    this is just an idea of how much i lift
    bench press: 135lbs 10-12reps
    squats: 205lbs 6 reps
    rows: 185lbs 8reps

    I would focus on getting stronger, and to me, a routine where you train each of the big lifts more than once per week would allow you to get stronger fastest. The upper/lower type of splits would be fine for that goal, but just make sure you aren't wasting effort working on too many isolation exercises. If in doubt, just pick one of the many proven routines posted in the stickies of this forum.
