Hey everyone I am around week 3 of inginual hernia repair surgery on my right side. I had my left side done back in 2018 and both were done by laparoscopic. My old doctor told me I had to wait at least 4 weeks before lifting heavy (the hernia I had was more serious then the one i got on my right side). However this time I went to another surgeon, had the surgery and was told I have no restrictions. I have tested the waters just the past few days lifting around 20-40 pounds. So far I feel fine with no pain or issues. Granted I feel fine but just lost that the doctor told me I am ok to go back to usual routines. Either way I don't plan to push myself to anything over 50 and above until 4 or maybe 6 weeks. I still have to gradually increase myself of course but was wondering how long did anyone wait to start trying to lift again. Like I said more than likely I'm going to stay at 15-20 pounds just to be on the safe side for now.
