    Should I Deload?

I've never deloaded before (and have been lifting for about 2 years), and just this week I noticed that my bench wasn't as good as it was the week before. Next week I am planning on starting Kris Gethin's 12-Week Trainer. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to deload for the rest of this week to prepare for the upcoming program and to allow my body some recovery. Any opinions?

just because your bench wasnt as good this week as last week desnt indicate a strong need for a deload. but yes take a break. 2 years without one probably means you are overdue lol.
You would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

YES. I'm a deload supporter. I'm doing mine this entire week right now actually. Every few months take a whole week and either take it completely off or more preferably do all of your routine at 50-60% of your usual lifts. It's nice to have a week without lifting heavy (even though you miss it when you're lifting at half).
    Started lifting Summer of 2009

Main current Goal - Two 45's on each side of the bar for benching 4x6.
    Currently - One 45, one 10, one 5, one 2.5

Just finished my back workout using 60% of my usual lifts with the same volume. It felt good and hopefully it will help me recover and get ready for the next 12 weeks with Kris Gethin .

Never believed in the scheduled de-load principle. When you are tired or unmotivated that day...just take a day or 2 off. Why schedule it? Never made sense to me.
