"request price" > making me think this is for medical professionals or very expensive.
obsessive... not word i would use... as long as the information is evaluated properly it should turn out beneficial in terms of how to cheat on a diet with minimal impact.
Test strips for these blood ketone reading devices are $5/each according to one youtube video saw recently + quick google shopping search. Would need a lot of testing to check results minimize variables.
so not worth it... just dont cheat(much).
similar one that looks cheaper:

edit: realize the link disproves/minimizes my $5 point but that might be an intro offer or something. 5 = average price i saw + what the guy said in video
that being said never tried.
let us know how it turns out.

Price is not always a big issue. A lot of the thinking about keto in this forum revolves around getting more lean, and is motivated by a mix of health and vanity. I share that motivation, but my main focus is on decision making and self-regulating AND on having enough energy for the brain to do that well. In that light, the price for strips is less of an issue. There might be other issues though, so i'm asking.

We use accu chek brand glucometers at work. They work pretty well, and quickly. Sample size is small. I am not sure on the exact model.
Honestly, I think this would end up being something you would use for a while, and then it would sit. Constantly pricking your finger, buying test strips, lancets, wipes, etc. It's a pain in the rear.
Diabetics have to do it, but I'm with Wonderpug...mostly obsessive on your part. I did check my blood sugar a couple times during keto. It was lowish(81 mg/dl) once, but not anything diagnostic/treatable. Between 70-80 is considered borderline hypoglycemic, but some people walk around all day like that without problems.www.squidoo.com/keto-diet

Okay, but what are you planning to do with the information? Will knowing your blood sugar at any particular moment of time help you achieve your goals? Do you have insulin you can inject if it is high?
I guess you could take cinnamon or some sort of herb to try to lower it. Here is the thing, you probably wont get much variation with keto diet. Probably between 80 and 90 every time. Taking insulin and other hypoglycemics would be dangerous at that point, possibly lowering sugar to the point you can get confused or even unconscious, and eventually dead. Even long term diabetics screw up their medication sometimes. I went borderline low just taking cinnamon PF while on keto, and I am not a diabetic.
So, what will you do with the information once you have it?
You can count how many ceiling tiles there are in a room, but that doesn't mean you can do anything with that information.www.squidoo.com/keto-diet

Precision Xtra Blood Ketone test strips
We utilize Accu Chek glucometers in our facility. They are reliable and efficient. Nonetheless, the amount of tests conducted is limited. I can't recall the exact model. In my experience, this product would be bought for short-term use due to the lengthy process of pricking one's finger, obtaining test strips, lancets, wipes, and so forth. It is tedious. At home I use the precision ketone strips and they do the trick!
