You guys gotta learn the rules on testing. There is no random testing unless the competition specifically says there will be drug tests and charges the athletes extra to cover the costs. As for being tested by the USADA (random out of competition testing), these criteria have to be met:
Category 1 - Top 3 men and women per weight class from all registered members in USA Weightlifting sanctioned events and international events in the 12-month period prior to the submission date for the testing pool for any given quarter. The submission date for any calendar quarter is approximately 7 weeks prior to the beginning of the quarter.
Category 2 – Up to the top 3 men and women, aged 20 & under and not captured in Category 1, in each weight class from all registered members in all USA Weightlifting sanctioned events and international events in the 12-month period prior to the submission date for the testing pool for any given quarter. The submission date for any calendar quarter is approximately 7 weeks prior to the beginning of the quarter.
Category 3 – Athletes that have officially retired but have declared their intention to return to competition, in accordance with USADA policy.
Athletes can also request to be added to the testing pool in case they might qualify for an international meet that year or Olympics one year in advance.
Category 4 –Athletes that have tested positive for a banned substance in the 2 years prior to any given calendar quarter, in accordance with USADA policy.
Category 5 – In accordance with USOC policy, any athlete receiving USOC Direct Athlete Support (Elite Athlete Health Insurance, DAS Payments, USOTC Resident, USOEC Resident or Facility Use athlete) or any athlete qualifying for a program funded directly by the USOC. Athletes that received DAS of any kind must stay in the RTP for 2 Quarters following receipt of DAS.
Category 6 – Athletes on any team representing USAW in any international or pan am event.Last edited by crackyflipside; 03-04-2011 at 02:08 PM.

In for CalStrength and Average Broz coverage. I loved Jared and Glenn giving us an inside glimpse of how they train through those streams. Obviously, Pat & Rob are impressive in their own right. Should be fun.

Hes up right now jsut snatched 175kg. Kendrick snatched 155kg. Also just missed 182kg backwards and 183kg forwards. No 200+ which sucks but he is coming off of an injury so its hard to expect a PR from him!

Anyone who expected him to go in a competition and snatch 200+ were being ridiculous tbh (I did expect like 190 ish though). The reason he's so hyped is because there's so many training vids of him doing big weights. Dudes in russia and china and stuff are most likely snatching those weights in training, at lighter bodyweights too, they just aren't posting them straight on youtube for the world to see and talk about. Actually doing it in competition is completely different, especially when you haven't been in one for ages. Who knows how many times he's attempted that 207 in that workout, or in however many previous workouts until he finally got it.
Also did you guys see what happened to kendrick farris? hory shetPBs:

Yeah he was laying there for a few minutes, nobody even went onto the platform for a few seconds everyone on the webstream was like somebody get up there! He was obviously battling so hard because he ended up not making any total. He lost the first two by falling backwards at the bottom of his squat jerk.
The Mendes 170 snatch shows it's probably just lack of lifting on stage because that warmup looked piss easy. I think the reason Mendes missed the 215 clean and jerks was him trying to power jerk them, the clean was easy but he just wasnt getting the bar high enough to power jerk it. Saying that, he must've done successfully with that weight or more in training otherwise he wouldn't be trying it out there.
edit: someone just reminded me he actually missed the 3rd clean and stepped forward to recover with the 2nd. I'd forgotten.Last edited by lwild; 03-06-2011 at 05:30 AM.
