Gaining weight from short-sprint cardio days?

So I thought that I would start doing some type of cardio when I wake up, and from what I have read, now and in the past, sprints are good to do. (Not looking to be a long distance runner and lose my leg gains).

Anyways, I will end up sprinting in 20 second intervals, and take a break, then do it again, take a break. Usually at the end I am completely dripping in sweat. I generally just do sprints that are the length of a mile total.

Besides waking up and doing sprints on the treadmill, I am a regular gym goer. I have always been, still lift heavy, and continue to do so.

I am eating no more than 2200 calories a day. My maintenance calculated was 2500-2700.

I even decided to do an extra .6 on the treadmill for sprints just so I could better my weight loss progression.

It seems like on cardio days my weight goes up, and when I don't do cardio days, it goes down. Does sprints **** with your metabolism or something?

    Current stats:
    5'7-8
Weight: 199.6lbs (Day before this post I weighed at 197.6lbs, lowest I ever been, and thought I would continue to go down more.., but no, back to 199.6lbs from 3 days ago),

Sounds like your weight is just fluctuating, I wouldn't be concerned with a couple pounds. But if that's not the case, maybe try a reverse diet to get your metabolism back in check. By the way sprints/ any sort of cardio definitely does not mess up your metabolism lol

Thanks for the response. At first I thought I wouldn't get any input on this. Probably because I am red, but yeah.

Weighed at 203lbs today for my final weight. (Just checked it). I even ate 1900cal today instead.

I'll look more into the reverse dieting. It's only been 2 1/2 weeks though which seems a bit fast to reverse diet. I think my starting weight was 208/206lbs so just a bit annoyed with progress.
