It's sad that I ever have to come out and say this, but there are plenty of idiots who always buy the hype for these fights. I told everyone GSP vs. Kos would be a waste of time and not competitive at all, yet there were plenty of morons who actually bought into the hype.
So I'm gonna say it again.
Vitor Belfort is coming off a one-year layoff to fight the #1 or #2 fighter in the world.
Oh, ok.
Anderson Silva has better everything. Vitor does not have one advantage coming into this fight except the random possibility of a flash-ko. That's it. That's the only way he can win.
So how is this fight gonna go? With Anderson Silva completely dominating Vitor anywhere the fight goes. I can't predict how (or if) Anderson will finish him, because Anderson is so inconsistent with his performances. I know it's going to be a pathetic one-sided beating.

Like you, I feel pretty confident that Silva will win. I think Vitor presents a different kind of challenge for Anderson with his power and hand speed specifically. And I hope he does. I want to see Anderson pushed for the first time in a while, and hopefully rise up to KO Belfort... But not quick. I don't pay $45 for a 45 second flash ko's. So I'll say 4th Rd.

Its MMA, and anything can happen, so I see belfort catching silva and getting a tko at some point. Hopefully.

I agree. I wonder if Belfort will try to grapple in this fight. IIRC he tried to grapple with Liddell and he instigated a grappling match against Overeem.

pretty much what i thought
brb vitor is an elite striker lulz, only reason people say that is because he has taken down opponents with flash ko's cause of his speed and aggression like op said, hes striking isnt accurate, his choice of strikes in his fights are predictable, etc.
Anderson is the complete opposite

I agree Vitor will win by tko/ko or not at all. On paper silva has it but i kinda have a bad gut feeling for silva coming into this one. Of course i had the same feeling going into the sonnen fight and thought i was right until the 5th round. I also think its more likely vitor gets the ko then anderson getting it.
you wanna know how i did it, this is how, i never saved anything for the swim back.

Lol'd hard @ predicting Kos / GSP 2 was one sided. Obvious prediction is obvious.
Vitor Belfort's wrestling > Anderson Silva's wrestling
Vitor Belfort's hand speed > Anderson Silva's hand speed
Vitor may not have fought in a while, and that will for sure be a factor in the later rounds, but this is not Koscheck vs. GSP. Are you forgetting Vitor used to fight at HW and LHW? Dude has ridiculous power. Who has ever hurt Rich Franklin as quick and effectively as he did?
There are some unanswered questions about his skill-set but don't do yourself a disservice and listen to the OP, because this fight will not be as one sided as Kos / GSP 2.
Not only is Vitor a game opponent, he's the only shot the MW division has of dethroning Anderson Silva as their runaway champ.

Andersons Reach > Belforts Reach
Adnersons Technique > Beflorts Technique
I'm not sure Belfort still has that lightning speed he used to.
When he was much younger and juiced up? When you drop 30-40 lbs of muscle and quit the roids you lose some of that rediculous power.
Anderson. He re-arranged rich's face permanently.
After injuries and year long layoff Vitor is significant underdog.RIP Anderson Silva - GOAT of MMA.

OP said Anderson is better everywhere. My post was to show him that Belfort has distinct advantages, I'm well aware Anderson outmatches Belfort, on paper, in other categories.

How can he be an underdog, going into a fight with the #1P4P fighter on the planet?

touche.
however, Vitor is not a 155'er, and is still capable of KTFO of anybody in the MW division. Guess we'll have to wait until Saturday to see if he can pull it off
