hopefully you can cut and not loose too much strength, if you take in the calories at the right time and continue workout intensity you will kill it bro!

I hit a new Deadlift PR today of 200lbs.

    My set went like this:
    5 @ 135lbs
    5 @ 155lbs
    3 @ 175lbs
    1 @ 200lbs

My previous max was 175, so I feel good about that 200. My next goal for deadlifts is 225 by end of April.

Unfortunately I have to cut to 160 in about 2 weeks now Thankfully though, if my gym scale is correct, I'm already 165 and my lifts have gone down 5 lbs at most (that's only some of them, still hitting PR's on a couple)

I wish man, although I'd get depressed from all the fat gain. I was feeling like a sumo on the end of my bulk!

My goal is to hit 405 on the dealift. I am currently at 385 for 1 rep with no straps or belt. I know I got it in me, its just a matter of time. I'm taking the baby step route, basically 5-10lbs each week.

Current goals are as follows (current weight / rep inside):

    Bench: 200 lb (130 x 4)
    Close grip row: 250lb (200 x 5)
    Dips: 100lb + body weight (25 x 3)
    DB Row: 150 lb (65 x 3)
    Front Squat: 200 lb (120 x 5)
    Overhead press: 175 lb (40 x 3)
    Chin up: 100 lb + body weight (25 + body weight x 1)
    Dead lift: 200 lbs (115 x 5--proper form)
    Upright row: 150 lbs (30 x 4)
    Lat Pull down: 175 lbs (130 x 3)
    Hyper extension: 150 lbs (60 x 8)

Time line: 3rd week of training ---> Goals met by end of April / Mid-May.

On a side note, why not use a belt for dead lifting?

I would assume not using a belt would be just asking for long-term back injury and hence ignorance. But, that's just my opinion. Same goes for back/front squats.

    Happy lifting!

After a dramatic 150lb weight loss I was only able to bench 70lb, I'm on the cusp of 225 today (6 months later).

I had never stepped foot in a gym until 6 months ago. The weight loss was nice but the gym is what has made me happy and has continued to give me motivation and the drive to better myself.

5-10lbs a week is a lot when you've hit your max. If you're making strength gains like that now that's awesome, just don't get discouraged if they stop being so dramatic. You'll hit a point when you'll be happy to jump ten pounds in a month, then five a month...

But keep at it, 405 is an awesome number to hit on deads! Good luck and let us know when it happens.

I hammered out a 5:11 mile on Sunday at the local college track, crushing my previous record of 5:28 that I set last May. I typically run 5 miles about 3 days a week, which takes me somewhere between 31 and 32 minutes (~6:20/mile pace). Every now and then I'll go to the track and do just 1, but it had been a while since I've tried. I was very pleased with my result.

My new goal is to break into the high 4 min range, something that was seemingly impossible 60 pounds ago.

Wow. That's extremely impressive. I've always been envious of people that could run the mile in short times. Probably because I've always been a sprinter and not a distance runner.

Good luck with your running and body fat goal!

As promised, reporting in with my new pr's from
    my latest workout.

Increased squat 1rm from 320 to 340, so a 20lb. gain in strength.
I'm confident I could have done more, but am happy with the increase.

Increased max on angled leg press from 25 reps of 675 to 5 reps at 1015lbs.

I didn't let the sled come down any further than the safety latch
closest to me in case I wasn't able to lock the latch in time if it was too heavy.

Was pretty happy to break the 1000lbs.+ mark although I accidentally
locked out for a brief second on the last rep. It felt like my knees were going to
bend the other way before lowering back to the safety catch because of the load, so
    I stopped at 5 reps.

Because I had done these after sets of squats, I knew it wouldn't be wise
to attempt more than the 5 reps this morning, but was happy to break past
the one thousand pound threshold even though I know it's not such a great
achievement overall with folks like Ronnie Coleman pressing 2400lbs.

But it was good to press the weight I set on the machine so happy
with the new personal records today.

Thanks again for creating this thread to keep the motivation sky high
and to all those who are contributing to it.

I believe in progression so I anticipate updating with new pr reports
    as they happen.

Today was just leg day for me, but I'll be checking back to report
and read the motivating updates from each of you too!

Not a personal best but, its my best from when I started picking the weights back up in Sept. Leg pressed 16 plates today for 10, so thats 4 plates up from the last time I tried it a few months ago. Figure Ill reach 24 for 10 by the end of april (crossing my fingers).
You may delay, but time will not.
Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.
Don’t wait for moods. You accomplish nothing if you do that. Your mind must know it has got to get down to work.
Yesterday is a cancelled cheque. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is the only cash you have, so spend it wisely.
If you do give up though just think. The sooner I fall behind, the more time I have to catch up.
