I'm 5' 3'' and 94 pounds and I eat about 3000 calories a day but I still can't gain weight.
My belly gets fat but whenever I weigh myself after eating I would only gain 2-3 pounds then I would weigh myself again before eating my weight would go back to 94 pounds.
What do you think is the problem?

Wait a second...
Sorry but nobody in this thread think it is strange a 94 pounds pal, eating 3k calories that don't gain weight?! I guess there can exist some specific cases where this is scenario is true, but doubt is your case.
OP:
1. You are miscounting.
2. I think you don't even know how much calories you really need to eat. Check it.
I hope you were honest with us and really need guidance/help. Because this smells like you are kidding us.Last edited by vinipitta; 01-21-2011 at 07:09 AM.

How's your activity level? Are you very active, are you doing a lot of cardio?
There are several possibilites:
- you are overestimating the amount of food you eat -> actually count your calories, and eat more
- you are really eating 3000 kcal, but you're running a marathon every day -> stop running marathons, do only half marathon distance runs and eat more. Or keep on running marathons and eat even more than "more". A whole horse each day will suffice.
- you have a medical condition, see a doctor and get some bloodwork done (TSH, T3, T4)

Sounds a bit freaky.
Small people need more calories per pound because their greater surface area : mass ratio means faster heat loss - but there are people twice as heavy who would gain on 3k.
Questions
1) Are you counting your calories right ? You really need to log everything you eat in a week & divide by 7 to get a reasonable average
2) Do you have insane activity levels that you could cut down on ?
3) No offence, but 94lb and 5'3 is unusually small for a guy. Do you have some kind of medical condition that may be relevant here ?
If your answers are yes, no & no - you've got a vast metabolism that can probably upregulate itself to waste excess calories. Eat more & rest more.________________________________
