5000 calories a day? ECTOMORPHS GTFIH

I was just looking online and some people of my status say they have to eat 5000 kcals a day to make any gains. Does this seem legit?

No. They don't know how to count calories. With the exception of those with hypo or hyperthroidism, metabolism is a product of bodyweight and not much else.

It's really not an impossible task to consume 5000-6000cals a day. Especially if you have a big apetite and a high metabolism.

I've counted my calories almost every day, and I get to 4000 no problem at all, 5000 some days- and i'm still hungry.

No, i'm not eating dirty. The basic bulking foods are all I eat, I just eat them in very large amounts. IDK but my dads whole side of the family is known for their massive apetities, so maybe i've inherited something?

Is it the high volume thats the culprit? As that is a normal for me.

Well if you're running a program with higher volume, you're probably going to want to eat more because you're going to be burning more calories in the gym.

I don't really know. i've always been able to eat a lot without really worrying about body comp. I guess the high volume training could be part of the reason but i've been doing high volume stuff for a year or so ( sheiko, hypertrophy programs, 5/3/1 with 20 sets of assistance work, etc...). it's probably mostly genetics IMO

4K cals a day is nothing. Talking from experience aswell. Regardless of having a big appetite and 'fast' metabolism 6K a day is going to take it's toll on you. I want to see his 6K a day diet plan to see exactly what he eats to get there.

a gallon and a half of whole milk per day and i go to IHOP before almost every workout. lol I don't e-stat especially for **** as trivial as this. i don't have a diet plan. I just guesstimate from experience and it is generally between 5-7k a day depending on how much weed I smoke

6k cals would probably take a toll if I were eating like that every day, haha. I do get up there some days though, not very often, though.

This is what Michael Phelps eats on a daily basis. its between 10k-12k calories.
    Just some ideas

    * Breakfast: Three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise, two cups of coffee, a five-egg omelet, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar and three chocolate-chip pancakes.
    * Lunch: One pound of enriched pasta and two large ham and cheese sandwiches slathered with mayonnaise on white bread and 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.
    * Dinner: One pound of pasta and an entire pizza and another 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.

Probably not. I mean the only time I ever get near 5000 is if I'm in cross country season and running ~50 miles a week anddd going to the gym 5-6 days a week. And I still don't get that many calories. And I am really ectomorphic, I have a 28 inch waist at 5'10".

Aw yee. I read that before. Unbelievable. Still can't decide if it sounds sickening or delicious. I would love to see someone else go on that diet.

You can eat all this and more and still look like this!!!

Slap in the face to fatties everywhere lol

i consume between 5-7k calories a day. i eat 6 cups of oats a day, 1800 right there. muscle juice weight gainer shakes are 1000 each; i have one every morning with a banana and 2 eggs, and one every night. 1lb of chicken breast a day. Throughout the day eat white or spanish rice, chunky soup, tuna, crackers, apples, peanut butter sandwich, etc. its not hard to eat that much. Plus the myofusion shakes on workout days. Also a fan of moes southwest grille and the joey burrito i get is around 1000 calories.
