Saw "Baby Driver" and I am not too sure what the hype was all about.
The movie is edited to the beat of music... wow, how clever, people have been doing it for decades, it's called... the music video!!! And while it makes sense in a music video, it was really weird in a movie. A bit like a musical where people break out into song and dance... and I hate musicals!
The car scenes were kick azz, very well done. The love story was NOT well done, starting from the fact the 2 characters are pretty insipid to begin with, and nothing about the love story is even remotely realistic.
The cast is pretty star studded, and for these actors it would probably be harder to give a bad performance than a good one by now, so Kevin Spacey, Jon Hamm and Jamie Foxx deliver.
All in all, by the time the titled rolled, I was a bit like "wtf did I just watch?" I do want that red Subaru WRX they use at the beginning of the movie though...

Watched "IT" last night and for the first 75-80% of the movie it was creepy and fairly well done, then it got stupid with the floating kids and no rhyme or reason as to why it was happening or the 27 yr lapses between attacks.

The book is a door stopper of over 1,100 pages, how anyone can think of condensing it into a 2 hour movie and have it make sense is out of his mind. Although "The Dark Tower" movie was even more insane, trying to condense 8 books into a 1 1/2 hour movie. What could possibly go wrong?

Watched a movie off a free Showtime weekend called "Arsenal" starring Nicolas Cage and also had John Cusack. Easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen, quite possibly Cages worst performance ever and Cusackd character serves ZERO purpose in the film. Bad acting, worse writing, horrible special effects, etc. The storyline was decent and it could have been a decent film with a better written story, actors, etc.

On Netflix, very gritty and dark Aussie Dystopia flick. Only a few of the recurring elements in these types of movies were hit on, when they are usually just copies of previous better movies.

It's a little slow, but well worth sticking with it until the end.

Venom, thought it was pretty damn good, good storyline with great special effects. You don't get to see Venom until damn near an hr into the film and it does get you a bit antsy. Some humor at times but its not forced and is not overdone like Thor Ragnarok was.

I enjoyed Venom. But, I was expecting more action. Good, though.

Saw Hunter Killer today. Very good movie. Was not predictable. Recommended.

Just watched a few older movies, America Made with Tom Cruise, Bad Grandmas with Florence Henderson and Pam Grier, Empire State with Dwayne Johnson and Liam Hemsworth and finally The 15:17 to Paris.

American Made was enjoyable and actually based on truth with more than a touch of fantasy added in, overall pretty good and enjoyable watch.

Bad Grandmas was hilarious and a bit gross at times. Henderson was hilarious in her last role before her death last year.

Empire State was a decent heist film and I can only imagine people in the Bronx being like that in the early 80's.

15:17 to Paris was based on a true story & unlike some films this one utilized the actual heroes of the moment to star in the movie. That being said they stretched a 15 second ordeal out into a 2 hr movie and honestly it was too long and drawn out.

We enjoyed it. It’s basic Pixar, complete with several moral messages. Lots of references to other movies, which always makes it more fun for me personally.

It’s not Toy Story or Cars, but it was good.

Finally saw Venom with my kids. They wanted to go, so...

It was okay. Not as terrible as I thought it would be, but not great, either. Tom Hardy was good...I didn't care for the screenplay.

Friend of mine lent me Get Out. I thought it good, not great. A little overboard on the stereotypes, but overall, a nice little shocker.

Just saw The Mule. Not a great movie, but it is Clint Eastwood so you know it is well made and holds your attention. Clint is looking really old now, we should enjoy him while he is still working.

This thing was horribly written, I can't believe Billy Bob even agreed to do it. Not even sure where to start, but you won't laugh, you won't cry, you may fall asleep like my Wife did.

Peppermint with Jennifer Garner was decent, you knew how it was going to turn out but still a decent enough waste of time.

Daddys Home 2 with Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrel, Mel Gibson and John Lithgow was ok, had some funny moments and overall was ok.

Aquaman, loved it! Great story with a great ending.

Not gonna be everyone's cup of tea. If you liked Less than Zero in the 80's, you'll love this. Dark, Cynical, Suspensfull. Superbly acted by a guy playing a 13 year old kid actor, already been through rehab and dealing with demons.

Can't wait to watch it again, 2 or 3 more times.

I rewatched the ending today, stand by my review that it was just parts of sucessuful movies already made, but was worth a watch.
