So can anyone explain to me why doing this is so hard and who are the 2 factions or groups debating here?
Washington expects a closure or shutdown soon( under 45 days), and i don't know R politics well enough to understand this.

I believe some republicans have final seen you can’t compromise with democrats and want someone who will finally stand up for America. The democrats never give up anything and republicans always give in. That’s why we are in such a terrible state of affairs. If you don’t believe that, then why do have 34 trillion in debt and trans/gay everything.

We see the speaker as some sort of leader.
Politicians see the speaker as the best fund raiser. Thats why they always picked pelosi. Damn sure wasnt because of her popularity or political acumen. She was a good fund raiser they all benefitted from.
This is the struggle we are seeing play out. The people they have nominated clearly arent that good at fund raising.
None of this has anything to do with the nation or the people."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Rep. Jim Jordan's allies were shocked that ***he didn't receive the needed votes to become House speaker**** despite running all but unopposed, according to Bloomberg.
Jordan is the current front-runner for the GOP's House speaker position, but he lost the first race when he opposed Steve Scalise. Then, after Scalise dropped from the race, Jordan ran again and still came significantly short of enough votes to secure speakership.
That was a surprise to those close to the representative, according to reports. There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Unfortunately, the Republicans are always at a loss for words, as can be seen by the actions that the Democrats are carrying out, and the effects they are having. Radical changes need to be made on many levels, because as bad as things are now, it's been a long time since that has happened, and there's no light at the end of the tunnel.

It's a nice thought, but it's not going to happen. It's possible, though unlikely, that the GOP nominates someone like Emmer who gets around 200 GOP votes and then the Dems provide the remaining votes in exchange for concessions. The most likely outcome though is that they let McHenry have slightly more power (namely to pass a 2 month CR on Nov 17 and to bring up votes on funding packages for Ukraine and Israel) and punt on electing a Speaker until the new Congress in January.
Although if enough of the GOP caucus gets sick of the Freedom caucus that they throw down a gauntlet and temporarily change the House rules so that a Speaker is elected by plurality rather than majority (this has happened before). It would force the FC to choose between getting behind the non-FC Republican or allowing Jeffries to become Speaker. If the FC were to hold their ground, Jeffries would win the gavel."it's likely one of us will have to spend some days alone"

House speaker race: Republican Tom Emmer becomes THIRD candidate to drop out after Donald Trump came out against his bid
Emmer's bid took a major hit when Donald Trump came out swinging against him on Truth Social
The House Majority Whip's decision to drop out of the race came on the 21st day without a House speaker

Apparently, Trump didn’t stop Tom Emmer, Jesus did. vvvvv
Rep. RICK ALLEN, Georgia Republican, told TOM EMMER in close House GOP conference meeting that the Minnesota Republican didn't need to get right with him, he needed to "get right with Jesus" because Emmer supported gay marriage.

Chair of House Ways and Means, Jason Smith , says Matt Gaetz “is a foolish liar.” Gaetz then responds by appearing to out him as a closeted gay man. Guess that was about 24 hours of unity for the House GOP.
Gaetz: "There might not be another member of Congress who lives a lie every day more than Jason Smith, and Jason Smith knows exactly what I'm talking about — and by the way so does almost every member of the House Republican caucus."
