Deep Impact
Must have been made before Armageddon, same story. Way too drawn out, to much going into relationships, high budget film with some pretty good effects and great acting by Morgan Freeman. Just so damn long.

With all the snow we've been getting the past couple of weeks I went on a torrent rampage.....
Fury - excellent (thanks North Korea for the early digital release)
Gone Girl - f'ed up movie...worth a watch though (especially since Nine Inch Nails did the score)
The Drop - really good last hurrah for James Gandolfini even though he wasn't the prime character nor the best reason to watch
Big Hero Six - thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish!!
John Wick - entertaining as others have already mentioned
Walk Amongst the Tombstones - not worth buying a DVD for, but a good way to kill a couple of hours
American Sniper - very good movie, but not on the level of Fury IMO
Dracula Untold - ok....the ending seems to leave it open to a sequel. I know...shocker lol
Taken 3 - what can I say....these are all enjoyable!!!
The Maze Runner - something for the kids, but wasn't terrible
The Judge - excellent, but looooong

King Arthur
On Netflix, the 2004 version. This movie takes a new spin on the classic tale, depicts Arthur as a Christian and makes Genvieve a warrior fighting along with the Knights. I rolled my eyes a few times but the cinematography and acting were outstanding, the battles were bloody and intriguing without being shockingly gory.
Long, but an enjoyable 180 minutes for sure.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Just saw John Wick and I enjoyed it. I think I liked it more because John Wick wasn't portrayed like a lot of the lead characters in films that never get hurt. He got hurt and kept going. I'd watch it again.
Also, I know this is not a movie but I recently saw some of Kevin Hart's "Real Husbands of Hollywood" which is a totally fake/scripted "reality" show. I like Kevin Hart a lot....we are both short and funny guys. (C wut I did thar) Overall it is a decent show even though sometimes the comedy gets a little dumb but I do like how he incorporates some of his stand up jokes into the tv show.Have you done something today to take yourself to the next level?

Will do considering all other takes on it also....sounds like my kind of movie with shvtheads dieing en mass.
I'm not a war movie fan (although, as a kid I certainly was during the old JW movie days) so Fury and American Sniper aren't on my list of interest.
But, should AS hit Netflix I may check it out.

Oh...forgot to mention a couple others we watched last week on NetFlix.
"Six Bullets" with Jean Claude Van Damme. (2012).
I'd never heard of it previously so thought we'd give it a shot.
Knowing some bad guys will likely bleed I found it entertaining and fast paced enough.
Granted, JCV has made a few cheezers too but if you like gg/bg movies and don't find his acting absolutely unwatchable I'd recommend giving it a try.
Assassination Games: Jean Claude and Scott Adkins.
Entertaining gg/bg movie.
I tend to think Scott will make a good name for himself in this genre.
If you like the genre I recommend checking it out.
Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear:
Also with Scott Adkins...see above comments.
Vietnam HD:
If one likes war history and you were a Soldier one might want to give it a chance.
I did watch the series prior to it hitting NetFlix....but, to my dismay, no USMC activities.
Also watched (read: tolerated) "Scorpion King 4" which graced us with a small role with Lou Ferrigno.
I'll just go out on limb and say it's not one I'd recommend.
Watched Falcon Rising again with Micheal Jai White.
They left room for us to think a sequel may occur. (I guess I liked this one )
Back to it....Last edited by Wayne Evans; 02-20-2015 at 03:56 PM.

Saw a movie called Compliance. I don't even know what to rate this thing, it wasn't bad, it's based on a true story. Acting was very good, but the plot is really strange.
Hard to believe this really happened. The story line is basically about a girl who works for a fast food restaurant, who gets accused of stealing money from a customer. The movie takes you through an 'investigation' of this, and it is kind of sick and twisted if you ask me, as it presses on. If you view it, you'll know what I mean.

Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

Think a lot of that really happened, in the back room. The guy who was merely 'acting out' what the 'cop' on the phone was telling him to do, went to jail for a while. He should still be there.
I recently watched ''Captain Phillips''...great movie. I'm reminded when watching films of that type, that I have no real serious problems in life. Amazing story of human compassion and resilience.
Highly recommend seeing it!

I watched Horrible Bosses 2. I thought it was pretty funny and I like a lot of the actors in it. Kevin Spacey I've liked ever since I saw the movie American Beauty. Jennifer, of course. Charlie from Always Sunny In Philadelphia, crazy guy. That guy Christoph something another, the big boss man, he played in the movie Inglorious Bastards IIRC and I think he is a good actor as well. I watched the bloopers after the movie, looks like they had fun making the movie.

I watch "13 sins" on netflix streaming yesterday and I must say its a different kind of movie. I recommend it.

John Wick was a solid violence / wrath / revenge movie. Not as good as Payback or Taken, or Man on Fire.
The story is OK. The fighting is good. Keanu Reeves is good but not great. The bad guys are lame / boring.
To the extent that the movie isn't great, the fault is more in the story than the acting. Keanu Reeves was pretty credible, but not all that compelling.
