And a good flick for someone who really never was a Batman fan (does age 7 count? .
I agree! In fact, it was partly this different twist of character that I found refreshing, and somehow (in such a genre) more "believable", lol. I spoke high praises of the flick at work after seeing it just a week ago or so. Batman has evolved from "over-the-top quirkiness" to a more serious sci-fi kind of deal. I liked it a lot.

Just finished with "The Bourne Legacy" and I liked it, pretty good plot that made you think a little bit and none of the action was too far wacked out and over the top.
Wife gets home in 30 min and we are going to watch "Ted"."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."

Watched "The Raven"
Interesting movie. Was expecting something similar to Sherlock Holmes. Its not.
Psycho killer using Edgar Allen Poe's novels to commit murders and Poe is brought in to help find the killer.

was about to ask how you could have them on DVD already as two of those are still theatrical titles, not released anywhere in the world on disc yet, then saw your location....

Yeah mate, realise stuff hits the markets there sometimes before it even hits the cinemas.
Lockout
Guy Pearce stars as Snow in this scifi/action where the presidents daughter is trapped on a prison space station amidst a riot/escape attempt. Snow is sent in to rescue her.
I think Guy Pearce was channeling John McLean from Die Hard for most of the film, the attitude and comedic one liners were very reminiscent of those films. The main protagonists are Scottish, their accents are so thick, you almost need subtitles when they speak!
Overall, pretty decent movie, entertaining enough for its 90 minutes. Nothing new but worth a watchMy journal http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=150040863

Fire With Fire
Bruce Willis and Josh Douchehamel star in this action/thriller where Josh plays a LA firefighter who witnesses a mob boss shoot a couple of guys. After agreeing to testify, he goes into witness protection only for someone to sell his new identity/location to the bad guys.
Yep, its as "by the numbers" and predictable as it sounds, I don't buy Josh as an action lead, Bruce Willis only had a minor part in this, so its not enough to drag it up from the depths of a B Grade actioner.
Watch it if you must, or if its screening for free on your cable/netflix, but other than that there are better ways to pass 90 minutes of your lifeMy journal http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=150040863

Just watched "Dredd" the remake of the awful Stallone film and it wasn't much better. There is one pretty cool scene with 3 mini guns doing some massive destruction but aside from that it's a rather dreary film.
Also watched "Total Recall" and overall I liked it, sure the plot is ludicrous but so what. You have Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel both with huge roles so what's not to love?"You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."

The Watch
Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill and Vince Vaughan star in this comedy about an alien invasion.
1/2 way through, I thought all 3 had lost any comedic mojo they may have once had, they managed to slightly redeem themselves but only just. I will admit I'm not a Stiller or Hill fan so was went into this not expecting much.
Had a few genuinely funny parts, but only a few.
Have seen far worse comedies lately, didnt want the 90 odd minutes of my life back, but won't rush to watch it again.
5/10 from meMy journal http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=150040863

We must both be on a roll at red Box . I watched it the same night you posted this...and agree. I found it slightly awkward the way they tried to weave the new hero in this series (showing so much old footage, etc..), but I wholeheartedly enjoyed it.
I had no idea what to expect, but my oldest son said it was pretty funny, so I got it a few days ago. Loved it! Not awesome, but pretty damn good. It's Boston humor at close to its best .
I am a big Stiller fan, but I thought this movie sucked...badly.

Abduction
Had the skinny vampire kid Tyler Lautner (SP?) as a HS kid who finds himself on a missing children website. Turns out his parents aren't his parents, they're guarding him from an evil agent who wants to abduct him to use him as a bartering chip. Had a very pretty young actress also. Good fight scenes, good action, chase scenes and shoot-em-up scenes. I had doubts about that kid playing a role suited for someone like Matt Damon but he pulled it off fairly well. Some pretty SRS holes in the plot, and the story was not terribly plausible, but some nice acting by the "CIA agents." Worth it for Netflix or redbox, would not pay the $4.00 on Vudu. 7.5/10.

Pumping Iron
Behind the scenes doco on arnies 1975 Mr Olympia competition and a slight insight into some of the other competitors incl Lou Ferigno.
Interesting enough movie, Arnie really did play the game very well, of course he was in the peak of his bodybuilding career and built like a brick $hithouse, but his approach was quite entertaining.

"Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."
"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."
