I haven't confirmed whether this one has been posted before or not.
"Rambo Last Blood".
Obviously, it doesn't have the pazazz or non-stop drama/action of this other efforts for the obvious reasons....after all, he's got a year on me at 74.
I perceive it as a bit slower starting but that didn't diminish the fact that we enjoyed it as OK entertainment.
If one hasn't seen it and likes Sylvester's movies in general I suggest giving it a viewing.
Que tenga un buen dia todas....

Vivarium
Amazon Prime Original. If you like Black Mirror, you'll love this. Drags a little early on, but well worth the 99 minutes for those of us that miss Black Mirror. Couple is brought to a model home community and all the house are exactly the same and they can't find their way out.
I just watched it last week. Somewhat predictable but a good story and tugged on the heartstrings a bit.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Sicario
Starts with a FBI raid to the house of a cartel house. The officer in charge is offered to collaborate in an operation to take down the cartel boss. FBI officer agrees and finds herself thrown in with CIA and special forces conducting questionable actions on both sides of the border. Add shady external consultant who seems to know an awful lot about cartels, and who may not be an entirely nice guy. Starring: Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin
I kept passing on this movie because I imagined it some kind of glorified cartel violence porn, a bit like "Once Upon a Time in Mexico". I couldn't have been more wrong, and now I kick myself for not watching it sooner. What a GOOD movie!!! Of course there is violence, but it is not the point of the movie. It deals with many aspects of the US war on drugs, who's involved, how it's conducted, and the legal and moral implications of the means used. It also touches on the involvement of the Mexican authorities with the cartels, and the way the locals deal with living in a cartel controlled town. There is so much food for thought in this movie, and it's acted really really well. I can't say enough about it.
Sicario 2
Movie starts with islamic suicide bombing of a mart on US soil. Turns out the terrorists may have come to the US using the Mexican cartel run immigrant smuggling. US decides to retaliate by starting a war between cartels. To do that they sneak into Mexico and kidnap the daughter of a cartel boss to make it look like another cartel did it. Things don't go as planned.
The sequel is about the same themes, but not as good. The plot is a bit all over the place, and found several parts too unrealistic. For example the islamic terrorism subplot is introduced and then completely abandoned. The decisions of the US upper levels are just weird. Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin are back, and they are just good regardless of any plot. My opinion is that you can easily skip it.Follow my 2018 competition prep here:

Mile 22
New Mark Wahlberg movie on netflix. Very confusing plotline that doesn't make sense until the end. Lots of shooting and swearing but that's about it.
Megan Leavey
On Vudu, female Marine is a dog handler in the gulf war with an aggressive dog. They used them as bomb sniffers I learned. Based on a true story and very touching.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Just watched "Downhill" starring Will Ferrel & Julia Louis Dreyfus, horrible & wretched are the only terms that come to mind. The movie does not have even a small part of any saving grace and should have been burned immediately after filming was completed.

Knock Knock
Keanu stars and directs, on Netflix. Couple of wet young girls show up at his place whilst his wife away with the kids, claiming they're lost. They need to get out of their wet clothes and have a good time. The good time ends for Neo the next morning, with an hour of well filmed and well written misery.
Great watch, had elements of A Clockwork Orange in modern day and a lot of original ideas.
I would give it a 10/10 if not for a couple of plot holes and Keanu being a Pu$$y throughout most of it.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

The Impossible
Family on vacation in Thailand when the 2004 Tsunami hit. Very gritty and graphic, based on a true story. Great acting and amazing filmography. 10/10 would recommend, but not for a date movie, gonna need some tissues no matter how Alpha you are.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Wife and I just watched Dolittle with RDJ and I despised every single minute of it, my wife found a few parts amusing but overall she wasn't impressed either. The acting and CGI were fine, it's the plot and writing which sucked so hard. I wanted to like this movie but there is nothing redeeming regarding any portion of it aside from it's less than 90 minute run time.

I liked the concept but couldn't make it past the 1st 10 minutes for some reason.
7500
Amazon Prime. Best plane hijacking movie I've ever seen. The entire thing is filmed inside a cockpit and you would think that would get old but you're on the edge of your seat the whole time. What makes it great is that the flight procedures and the feeling of being in the cockpit are spot on. Nobody Actors and no Nic Gage hanging on to the side of the plane with a handgun in the rain with dramatic music.
It's gritty, not happy, but really, really well done. They could have shortened it by 20 minutes and not lost any of the dramatic effect. No big plot holes, everything that was depicted could conceivably happen, even post 9/11.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

"You were never here"
War Vet hired to rescue a young girl that was abducted and forced into an underaged brothel.
What a great plot for a movie, what a terrible, terrible job of putting it together. The hero has flashbacks so often you never know what's going on, it's about him, then about the victim, then about his Mom. Just a convoluted miserable mess.
***Spoiler*****
There's like 6 good minutes where he goes into the Brothel for the girl and methodically beats a bunch of ****philes to death with a hammer, but even that scene has confusing flashbacks.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

21 Bridges with Chadwick Boseman was entertaining but I figured out the who & why pretty early so it's predictable but still worth the time.
And I can't believe I have never seen this before The Long Kiss Goodnight with Gena Davis and Samuel L Jackson, this one was a good view that I enjoyed quite a bit, came out in like 96-97 but has aged fairly well and is much better compared to other Femme Fatale movies such as Red Sparrow."You know that little thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn't? Yeah, well, I don't have one of those."

Hey Corbi......
Just in case....did you know Chadwick died a couple of days ago?
Colon cancer at 43.
Anyway....
I liked him too (but, didn't care Black Panther and didn't even finish it).
If you liked him I'd recommend giving "Message From The King" a viewing. (Netflix)
Not terribly fast paced but a bit of vengeance/justice served made the movie interesting enough for me because he was in it.
I hadn't heard of "21 Bridges" so I'll keep that on the front burner to give it a watch.
Oh yes...."Long Kiss Goodnight" is one we liked too and have it on DVD.
I'm not into the "femme fatale" movies either and didn't think 'Red Sparrow" was worth finishing.
But...that's just me.
Have a great day all....carry on.USMC: 1965-1969

Oh shvt...I'm an idiot!
I just saw that he died a few days ago and must have had a daft moment and didn't see that it was some time ago.
I'm very particular about super hero movies too.
IE: Superman Vs. Batman and Justice League Civil War story lines did not work for me.
To be blunt....I thought they sucked.
Thanks for calling attention to my oversight.

Did you guys see Chadwick in 42? (Jackie Robinson movie) That was a fantastic movie I thought. I didn’t know he died!? That’s crazy and a shame, he was a good actor.

Howdy (good) movie lovers.....
About a week ago I tried a 2002 Sylvester Stallone movie called Avenging Angelo.
I tried to like it enough to actually finish with a second attempt....but I failed.
Kind of dull, slow starting and I don't know how it resolved.
But...if I were asked?....I'd say "...don't bother, not entertaining enough to keep my interest".
Not caring for Madeleine Stowe didn't help my interest level either.

Well....
I'm not a 'comedy' movie person.
I'm an action/martial arts gg/bg kind of guy.
But, tonight is an exception.
It's pizza, a libation and we'll be putting on "Planes, Trains & Automobiles".
We have it on DVD and don't think we've seen it since the end of the last century.
In all my subjectivity, one of the best comedies ever made.
I do miss Mr. Candy and enjoyed all his movies.
Although, "Wagons East" was not one of them and when he left us.
He was one of a kind and (from what I've read of him) was well loved by all he came into contact with.
So....if none here have seen it (hard to fathom) I'd recommend giving it a view.
If you have seen it?....no biggie....I'd recommend watching it again for some heart warming (did I really say "heart warming"?) comedy during the Holiday travel horrors.
To all....have a great Christmas and New Year with family/friends.
Carry on....
