    BCAA'S. Before, During, or After workout???

    I just recently have started to sup. with BCAA and have been taking them after i work out

    with protein. This is my frist time taking them and was wondering what everyones input on

    this one isssss!

    While there's not a ton of research backing taking them anytime when your protein intake is adequate, intra or between large meals would be the two potentially best times.

    I usually do bcaa's in the morning, pre, post, and before bed. But there are many different ways to to take them, but with bcaa's higher amounts are more neccessary to see better results and recovery from them.

    i have tried the pre and postWO, and they did nothing for me
    never tried intra, i cant drink anything but water while working out personally, not to mention the bulk BCAA powder i had tasted like shiat
    i would agree with the post above and try them intra or between meals, the latter esp during dieting.. although i dont believe BCAA supps do much, anything to try to help w/ the constant soreness a low cal diet brings is worth it imo, esp since BCAAs are cheap

    IMO, combining them with protein is about the most useless way to use them... similar to taking them with a meal. As if you need even more amino's then you're getting in a high protein meal/shake.

    Anabolic spikes i agree are important (Protein Synthesis)...however, BCAA's taken right before a whey protein shake or in conjunction (unflavored) will get a person to this spike quicker and the spike will stay high longer because of it...common sense...BCAA's are also found in abundance in muscle so naturally BCAA's are a muscle builder...it's what the muscles need most out of all the other amino acids...i should state they are typically found w/glutamine included so my statement is based on that as well as it's found at a high level in compared to other aminos in the muscle..

    I've always used them in either mixed with preworkout, or during workout. I also like to take some between meals in early afternoon. I find this has worked well for me. Everyone's different. And I agree with taking it with meals or shakes is not as good. But that's my opinion.

    Honestly make sure your training and nutrition is in line first then decide when you can use them. I'm a big fan of using aminos peri-workout but its all situational

    I train fasted, so I would use them preworkout if I used them. If someone eats plenty of protein, taking them between meals is overkill IMO.
