    Extreme Night Hunger?

    Hey Fellas,

I have been exercising for quite some time now and have always been active but have just joined this forum mainly to ask this question. I have been doing some pretty intense workouts and cardio for about 3ish months. Up until recently I have been having some extreme night hunger, where I just cannot stop eating, as in nothing will satisfy my hunger. This always happens late (8-10pm). Am I the only one that this happens to? Does anyone have suggestions on how to stop this? I am about 5'11 and 180lbs... i would really like to get to 170ish but kinda hard with eating this much at night.

    Thanks guys,

    Brandon

You're probably not eating enough. Hard to say without more info: maintenance calories, macro breakdown, how many calories you are eating, when do you work out, etc

    I get about 1500-1800 cal/day.

350-450 cal per breakfast lunch dinner (40-80 g protein)

    2-4x/day 114 cal Dymatize Elite (21g protein)

I workout around 4-6pm 4-5 days a week with 30-40 minutes of cardio 2 to 3 of those days.

Keep your calorie range around 1800-2000 on a consistent basis. Still lose weight at an excellent rate. Think long term success.

Whats your healthy fat intake? Drinking plenty of water?

I eat plenty of nuts through out the day as well. I drink more than enough water (6-8 500 mL bottles)

"Plenty of nuts" is not an amount.

Aim for 0.4-0.5g of healthy fats per pound of bodyweight.

Can rearrange your cals so you have more calorie dense meal(s) towards the end of your day. Just do not exceed your calorie/macro targets for the day.

Maybe have some PB, cottage cheese, yogurt, small whey/casein shake, etc..prior to bed.

Try moving your meal times, start eating later in the day or push dinner and later meals to a bit later so you don't have time before bed to be hungry.

I agree with the above. Starve a little in the evening if you have to, and put off eating dinner until close to bed. If you can't make it that long, eat a snack just before bed. Or eat part of dinner, then save a last bit of it until just before bed. It's easier for me to suffer 3-4 hours before going to bed, than try to go to bed and suffer however many hours until I go to sleep. You put the hunger on your terms. Find away to ablate, avoid or absolve it any way you can - so long as you don't go over your calorie goals for that day.
