Like most people, I am guessing, I am pushing the limits of the current space my gym occupies.
I thought it would be beneficial to compile a thread of everyone's gym additions that weren't equipment or take up a lot of space.
Please tell us what item as well as what it has helped you with whether quality of life, sticking point, or certain type of training.
Examples would be:
Chains/Bands: locks outs and assisted lifts.
Dip Rack Attachments: build triceps
...
ETC
I have very few in my gym so looking to steal everyones ideas to spend more money with he space I have.
Lets hear everyone's favorite non-equipment gym additions!

Actually, I had the same thought that Splitsquat did......most of us in this forum think of wraps, chains, belts, etc as equipment.
We've had threads like this before, people frequently mention their stereo, mini-fridge, computer station for tracking gains, that sort of thing. That's what most of the regulars here think of as "non-equipment".
Not trying to be a downer on your thread, I like the idea well enough. Maybe "accessories/gadgets" would be a term that is more in line with what you are thinking than the term "non-equipment".[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]

For myself, getting a decent belt that is 4 inches all the way around helped me to really get my squat numbers on track.
I built a 3 sided plyo box about a month ago, I love it. I can do box jumps, but I can also move it around and use it as a stand to hold DB's or plates so that I can grab them easily on GHR's, I can lean on it when doing 1 arm rows, and all sorts of other little jobs.
I also like my DIY macebell. It has been really helpful in reducing shoulder soreness.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]

Some of my other favorite "accessories" would be my specialty bars--Swiss, Football, Safety Squat, and Trap bars. I like the variety, and I'm not getting any younger. Most of these bars help to save a little wear/tear.

Some of my favorites:
1. A good belt is a must have for me to do heavy squats and heavy deadlifts. I love my Inzer Forever belt.
2. APT straps. I currently just use for shrugs.
3. Ironmind dipping belt. Any good dipping belt is fine. The Ironmind is comfortable, but pricey.
4. Fat Gripz - I haven't used in a long time
5. Dumbbell hooks, I haven't used in a long time. The are great for lifting off, but tough to re-rack.
6. Chalk/chalk bowl - Haven't used since getting the Ohio Power Bar. I haven't needed chalk with that knurling yet.
7. Broomstick - great for doing shoulder "dislocations".

My accessories:
1. jump rope for warm up/conditioning.
2. rings for dips and push ups/flys. Can also be used for various pull/chin up grips if you have the height.
3. firm foam roller - I actually have a soft (original), firm, and 6" diameter pvc pipe wrapped in rubber tape. Firm is used most.
4. 4" belt - Best Belts Prime cut for squat and press.
5. knee sleeves - for squats and mentally does more for me than the belt.
6. dumbbells - depends on what you do, but I have a few lighter ones for shoulder/press work and a single heavy for rows.
7. bands - have heavy, medium, and light bands, but really only use the light bands for face pulls and rarely jump squats.
8. metal platform/box - for box jumps or rack pulls. I primarily use them for box jumps.
9. slam ball - I use a 20 lb. ball for wall/floor slams and throws.
10. chalk ball - I keep in plastic container and primarily use for heavy dead lift work.
11. bar pad - I thought this was weak and would never be considered, until I started doing hip thrusts with a couple of plates.
12. kettle bells - I have a 18 kg and 24 kg just for fun and conditioning.
I keep trying to come up with an excuse to get something else that I "need", but have a hard time justifying to myself (I try to be minimalist). I just hate having stuff sitting around and not being used. I'm still a gear ho, I just prefer fewer nice pieces to more pieces that aren't used (quality over quantity). In the end, you only need a good rack, bar, plates (I prefer bumper plates), and for me a glute ham developer. Another heavier dumbbell (back getting stronger so DB rows getting light) or that Ohio Power Bar would be nice though....

Heh......clearly geometry is not a strong suit for me......
I have not posted about the box before. It is a typical 20x24x30 design, there are instructions all over the internet. It only used 1 sheet of plywood, and I got the guy at Lowe's to do all the cuts. All I had to do was glue it and screw it.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #29 []---[]
