anybody else have fluctuating self esteem and personality from day to day basis

yea its been goin on my whole life too, i cant pin point an explanation to why it happens certain times and why it doesn't other times in the same situation.

the thing is, durin the times I am able to be myself, I can act exactly how I would like to and am completely content with myself.

i've explained this to about 5 different "top notch" psych doctors and they do not understand.

yea I kno, I told this to my doctor and he said know because I said it fluctuates from a a day to day or a few days to a few days basis, and he said bipolar you have to go weeks with a bad mood etc..

i even tried to aware him that there is such a thing as shorter cycling bipolar but he wasnt having it

You just need to reinforce the confidence on the days where you're not feeling as good. I think in my case it stems from chronic fatigue.

Try being on top of the world one hour planning huge things and suicidal the next, then repeat this multiple times a day. Then throw in random inexplicable rages.

None of the above are triggered by events either.

Yeah, its crippling sometimes.. ill be confident and wellspoken for a day then the next ill feel like killing anybody who tries to talk to me, and it feels physically awkward to try and speak

i'd go see a different doc for a second opinion

yeah dude it's nuts i'm like 2 totally different people. i can elaborate but there's no point, i mean it's literally one extreme to the other i cant help it.

yes, physically awkward to try and speak, its like my face tightens up and I have a tough time speaking, and when I do speak I sound completely monotone, and I show zero emotion->unapproachable to ppl/ppl think im pissed off at them just by saying something normal to them

My doc more or less gave me the same speech pointing me in the direction of a well accredited psychiatrist.

I just googled that short cycling bipolar thing and it sums me up perfectly. I also have a history of psychosis in my blood line so I wouldn't rule out the possibility of being mentally ill either.


Once or twice a week I feel like the ****ING MAN and then I come tumbling back down towards earth feeling like a snail in a rabbits world.

OP, does it seem to coincide with the direction that the day is taking? Say you stepped out of your house in the morning and found a $100 bill. Would your day be good/ would you feel alpha for the duration?
