Was in the Marine Corps for 8 years and on recruiting duty the last 2 1/2 before I got out.

I'm bored and been lurking forever. Just responded to a thread about recruiting issues, so I figured I'd start a thread to give legit answers to any other recruitment questions. Marine Corps specific, but other branches' practices are nearly identical/very similar (except Airforce recruiters, those dudes didn't have to do ****). Kinda sick of all the misinformation spread around here.

Me, no. Peers, mostly no but some very frequently. They were generally backstabbing pieces of **** and disliked by most.

If i had a felony when I was 16 that I had to do community service for will i be able to join the service again after I turn 18? Meaning do they look at your juvenile records?

You would have to get a waiver from the doctors at MEPS and it would have to be one year post surgery/injury.

i broke my ulna and radius falling off a wall a couple years back and had a plate and 11 screws put in my radius. any problems with disqualification for health defects or something?

Medical exam is just a basic physical, nothing too thorough. Don't know about the testicle but they do check them.

Are you pressured by your boss to recruit a number of people? Since you said you dont lie to them would you do it to meet your quota?

Monthly quota is generally 2, although by the book you are considered "successful" if you maintain 1.3 enlistments per month.

i got denied enlistment before even goin to MEPss. i had to fax documents from a therapy session when i was 16 (parents made me go). i was never medicated only attended therapy. i got a permanent medical DQ icd code 300.01 before ever going to MEPs to be evaluated. am i ****ed?

Yes, juvenile records count. One felony can usually be waivered in the Marine Corps depending on the severity, but you would most likely be turned away in current times.
