My This Is It body transformation started on December 8, 2010, a week late after my initial December 1st start date. At that point I was even tempted to wait to the new year. This kind of procrastination has been the main culprit in my weight gain.
I literally have spent thousands of dollars in the past recent years on equipment, supplements, and literature to begin my healthy lifestyle transformation. It seemed like every Monday I was "starting" my life change, but found tiny reasons to either give up or just accept the fact that I preferred indulging in bbqs and alcohol.
As of yet, my biggest challenge has been simply getting started, and the biggest motivator was reaching my all time high in weight, 260 lbs. Saddening, knowing the fact that this past May I was at 215 pounds, my lightest and healthiest in 5 years. That's right, 45 pound weight gain in six months.
In the next few days I will start to consistently post my daily food consumption. Since December 8 my diet and water intake have been as planned. No cheat meals or tastes of any kind, until today.
Battling a massive head cold/cough, I found today's morning workout nearly impossible to start, so I decided to take the family out for a movie and return to my workout in the afternoon.
Theatre popcorn is not to passed up, so I had my first planned cheat meal (popcorn/mexican food). I do not feel guilty, since I had it planned and charted. But, to tell you the truth, it kind of grossed me out. I guess the pounds of chicken and gallons of water neutralized my taste buds, which is good for my lifestyle transformation.
As I returned home, I once attempted to hit the weights. I took my preworkout supplement and headed to my rack. Doing my warmup I knew it would be a struggle. I found my first set of squats to be quite awkward. Strength and motivation were lacking, having a clogged up nose, and a slight headache all factored in deciding to take the afternoon off.
I will refuel this weekend, maintaining a solid diet, and go strong once again on Monday.
On a side note, this afternoon weight attempt was weird and awkward. I don't know for sure if my weakness and lack of motivation came from my sickness or the bloat from my cheat meal. I'm guessing the meal is 80 percent to blame.....definately not worth the trouble and loss of gain. This cheat meal is a lesson learned.
