yeah sucks. i don't understand, do all of the people in those areas attempt to make it better there or is it just so bad everybody accepts it and lives with it.

If the government and people outside those areas don't realize the problem is money doesn't go into hiring teachers, getting educational supplies/books, infrastructure and buildings, public works, etc. then no matter what the people try to do, it won't improve.

Most people just see those areas and say "Get a job". Yea right, if it were only that easy.

i lived in michigan for 19 years and not surprised to see that 8 mile is the divider. seperates wayne county from oakland. i lived in oakland.

Well, at least in my area, all the public housing and project areas are in central locations, thusly that's where 95% of the minorities are. So it'd look segregated on paper.
