Low carb diet without working out?

I play football in club level and made the transition from pocket passer QB to WR.
in 5 weeks I lose 9 pounds doing a low carb diet and I was doing a strength workout plan.
But I got injured the elbow in the last game, there is a way to do a low carb diet without workout and don't lose LBM?

    thanks

Make sure you eat 1-1.5 g of protein per pound and eat to maintenance.

Unless you're a wrestler trying to make weight, in-season athletes shouldn't be using a low carb approach.

I was using a low carb diet because I made the trasition during the season and I was a little overweight QB and i wanted to improve performance for WR position (speed and agility)

I agree. You will fatigue easily and lack energy during the game
