Not losing weight because of sleep loss??

My wife had a baby a few months ago, and neither of us has had a full night's sleep since (waking up every 2-3 hours). I put on a good 30 lbs while she was pregnant and now I'm trying to lose it again but for the life of me I don't seem to be making any progress--my waist measurement has sat at 37in for 2 months now at least. I've been lifting and doing cardio 4-5 days/week and eating great but no luck. I've cut down pretty well before (see old profile pics) following the same diet/workout plan but I think sleep loss is keeping me from losing fat this time.

Has anyone else experienced this before? Any tips? Hopefully the kid starts sleeping through the night soon, but who knows...

i would guess it has more to do with your diet than sleep loss. perhaps indirectly, i.e. staying awake more gives u more time to eat.

Oh crap, my first kid is due in 2 months and I hope I can somehow avoid this happening to me. Thinking I'll send the wife and kid to sleep in another room :-).
