Im 5'10 and weigh 177. My goal is to get lean and ripped between 175-185 lbs. Is it easier to lose weight to about 12% and then bulk or should I bulk now and cut later?

this. why would you even cut? you have no muscle mass. you will just end up a smaller version of yourself, without much change. focus on lifting + eating correctly and the gains will come.
cutting will only slow down the process 10x more. only thing i would suggest is a possible seperate cardio day in your routine once a week, 2x at max.

Also you do realize that in a month of bulking its next to impossible to have a big, defined back right? If not, you are an idiot. You on the other hand have been in this game for a few YEARS, not months, yet you still have the body fat of a morbidly obese individual who has never set foot in the gym. Sure you might be strong, but does that and an obese body make you better? I dont think so.

you do realize that my avatar picture, the picture you base my bodyfat% off of, is 2 years old, and i keep it because it made me laugh when i saw it, right?
if those love handles are 1 month into your bulk, then you must be sporting a straight up squat booty right now to go with that hour glass figure.
you should take a full body picture of you from the back, black out your head so they cant tell your a man via your short hair, and post it in female bodybuilding to give them motivation.

anyways... im sure your decision has alrdy been made OP. do you wanna become a fat **** like this kid (sry dude but you started it) or do you wanna be lean and ripped? cut first so you will be able to stand to look at yourself in the mirror. like some1 else sed bulking will feel much easier for you. 9-10% is a bit excessive tho imo just cut down til you can see abs then clean bulk.

What love handles? My hips are quite wide genetically. But who are you to comment on love handles? You probably have my bodyweight in lb's of fat spread out over your sweltering body. And we both know you are obese, no point kidding yourself. I bet you find it hard to look down with that chin fat getting in the way.
What you should do is jump in the sea with an underwater cam, take some pics of yourself and upload them onto a whale watching forum explaining how you went swimming with sperm whales.
