Been working out for a year or so and I've never really worked out legs that hard. I've got genetically big quads from my dad and I maxed out the quad curl machine first time using it while I see most others at about half.
I tried doing leg press and repped 720lbs 10 times (8 45lbs plates each side) on my 4th set while ramping up every set. Is this pretty good for not working out legs much or is it just average? Could it be good leg genetics?

Leg press is a horrible test of strength. The only real lift for leg strength is squats. I only leg press 1.8x more than I squat but I know people that squat much less than me but leg press much more. Some people can leg press 4x their squat and some can only leg press slightly above their squat.
How much grass could an ass to grass squater squat if an ass to grass squater could squat grass?

idk every leg press machine seems to be different and like iceman sed its not a true test of stregnth especially due to so much cheating and awful ROM, the deadlift is the true test of stregnth, you just pick it up, no worries about form or spotter, you can do it or you cant.
I do it because i can, i can because i want to, i want to because you sed i couldent.

Everyone can do the leg press machine at my school at 400lbs. I've never tried a real leg press with plates and on an incline and such. But thats still good for a beginner if you use good ROM.

What I do
I do 3 sets on the leg press in this order:
504x10
760x10
800x10
And today I did after those 3 sets, 840x10. And I had to get driven to the hospital for a CAT Scan because on my 9th to 10th rep of 840, I got a major headache and couldnt control my breaths. Learned my lesson and learned my max. And wont ever do it again!

Bunch of ass holes
720 for 8 reps is way above average. People can lift a lot on leg press most just donβt feel comfortable doing so. Sucks everyone on here jumped you for asking a simple question especially after a year of working out. Yeah thatβs a good amount of weight and you are def above average. Super good workout, hits every muscle group in your legs. Yeah itβs not common to see people max out on this lift. However Ronnie Coleman the βkingβ regrets not squatting 800lbs for more than 2 reps. Says he thinks he could have got about 5. However he follows this by saying he repped 2800 on leg press for 8 reps so that makes up for it. So for every turd on here saying yeah well itβs not a squat. **** em if Ronnie Coleman speaks highly of a strong leg press keep it up.
