Yesterdays Workout
So ya, short as hell. Daylight savings has kicked my ass. My normal 4 1/2 hours of sleep turned int 3 1/2, so when I got to the gym at 6:45am I ended up sleeping in the parking lot for an hour and a half... lol. Same thing today. Tomorrow is a ruck run/liter carry, so there wont be any catching up on sleep anymore.
Strength and endurance are definitely down, but nothing crazy so far. Hopefully I can catch up on sleep and get this lazy streak fixed. I'm not worried about it though, unplanned breaks here and there dont really affect long term goals.

So no gym today, but a great workout nonetheless.
The ruck run/litter carry this morning was pretty legit. I think we went 4ish miles. We had groups of 8-9 (the Navy team had 10, but its the Navy, SEALs need a little help), each team carrying a backboard with a human weight dummy on it. Just like this:
There were 8 teams, and it was at your own pace, but you had to stay behind the lead cadre. We obviously wanted to come in first, but our #1 objective was to beat the Navy team. Gotta keep the SEALs in their place.
The course was mainly running on the road, and over some dirt paths, but we ended it on a fun/****ty note. We went probably 3-400 meters through a creek with mud and sand so deep that some of the shorter people were sinking past their belly buttons. Then we came to some big drainage pipes, probably 100 meters long under the road, and had to pull the litter through that. Water was about a foot deep in there, and it was nice and pitch black. One guy on another team FKDDDD his leg up coming out of the pipe. Split it like crazy.
After that, you came out into a reservoir below a mini dam. There was lots of busting ass in that deep rocky water, which was pretty entertaining.
We ended up coming in 1st, of course, , so win for the day there.
Tomorrow should be a gym day pending, who know... But we only PT once a week, so we should be good.
Weight as of last night was 194lbs.Ya, I blog.

Yesterday
I actually ate more than this but didn't track it. Me and the wife drank a little, and got into some brownies and a little more ice cream, lol. Nothing major though. Zero fks. I was PROBABLY still in a deficit, or right at it.
O, and; on the weekends I have a day or two where even if I'm 100% on my cals, I dont care about macros AT ALL. I like this method a lot better than a "cheat day", or a "cheat meal". In my experience at least, a cheat day gets way out of hand. And its very easy to un-do an entire weeks worth of progress in a day. AND, the day following a cheat day generally ends up being worse than the cheat day, because I wake up feeling bloated and gross, and that makes it even harder to care about staying under cals that day.
The same holds true for cheat meals. They just usually postpone the eating until later that day, which I guess is a little better.
So I just dont worry about macros, and if I go over I go over. But I go through the day tracking, and planning on sticking to the plan. Than way I'm generally just running out of cals after dinner, and I can have a few extras after that without doing any substantial damage.
I know some people swear by cheat days, or cheat meals. But this is just what I have found works best for me. So if you have trouble keeping it together with cheat meals, but need a little bit of a "release" once or twice a week, I recommend giving this method a shot.
Pizza Hut just brought back their Original Stuffed Crust! If you are unaware, they changed it into some weird, peel off, bread stick like thing, with hardly any cheese in it a while ago. Its was OK, but nothing like the original. So yesterday my wife tells me they have the old one again, and ya, we had to get it.
Holyyyyy sht it was a win! I don't understand how Pizza Hut can be so terrible with everything else they make (yes I HATE Pizza Hut), but their stuffed crust can be so epic.
I cant remember if I shared this already or not, but this stuff is pretty decent.

Yes, I know, sad, sad leg day. I'le admit it, I have been SLACKING hardcore on my legs for the past, year and a half probably. I just hate leg day, HATE, HATE, HATE. But its to the point where I definitely do look a little silly in shorts, so its time to stop being a btch for a while.Ya, I blog.

The strength loss during a cut is definitely a btch. I usually find some things still progress though. Legs (sometimes) and most pulls keep going up. Presses though... They TANKKKK.
Things are going well though. Not getting in the gym as much or for as long as I would like, but things are still progressing pretty quickly.Ya, I blog.

Fuaaaaaaark dude everything is looking so solid ITT.
I am loving the way you do "cheat" days or whatever you wanna call em. That is the way I would preach others to do them as well.
Eat what you want, within reason, and within your calorie intake. No big deal.
Staying strong, looking leaner, and it appears you are enjoying the hell outa food still

And hell ya. This "cheat day" method is fairly new for me, and I'm really loving it. I've always been so torn on cheat meals, or days since they obviously can quickly spiral out of control. But when you dont go more than a few hundred over, and spend all day not intending on going over at all, its much easier to stay on the tracks. Shts awesome.
Still loving my food for sure. Strength is definitely dropping on my presses, but otherwise its not too bad.Ya, I blog.
