I've taken it as a last resort and that's exactly what it is. It's a strong prescription drug that you should take based on your doctors recommendation. The most common dose is 40mg per day.

You're still going to need a prescription for it even if you order online (most likely). Have you tried multiple antibiotics? Also this may help you...http://www.acne.org/messageboard/mas...8#entry2976328

    llluuulllzzz

edit: and yes the sides are really bad man. not worth it if you can avoid it. at all.

Be careful theirs a reason why the doctors require blood tests the stuff works but it can wreak havoc on your body. Also I hope you don't want to have kids in the future because they're finding that accutane causes birth defects

yes you need blood tests once per month to check your liver. also the birth defects only happen when women take it...who are pregnant lol.

you WILL need monthly blood tests. The typical prescription is 40mg a day for 5 months. The side effects are mainly chapped lips and dry skin. The rest are relatively uncommon. I've taken this "wonder" drug two seperate times now. It's not all that bad

Did you read "acne treatment" and skip the "side effects, Adult dosing" parts?

Unless you're getting monthly LFT's and willing to give up all supplements (even your multi-vit, maybe not protein) I wouldn't even consider it.

a lotta bull**** in this thread

i took accutane for 5 months, 40mg a day, best decision ive ever made, i also knew others who took it and they had the same experience i did

sides were very mild, everyone just blows them out of proportion but they really have no clue

however i would be very leary ordering it without a prescription

    Key point here.

NEVER assume that just because you had minimal sides, that someone else is going to. That stuff is straight poison on your liver and never use with out being a doctors care.

I took it for 6 months 40mg a day 5 years ago and my lips still havn't recovered all the way. I'm in need of chapstick every day. Not to mention it can cause huge problems with your liver (just because this didn't happen to you doesn't mean it won't happen to OP). And OP what have you tried to control your acne? What antibiotics have you tried? Accutane is expensive as **** and hard to pay for with no insurance.

I was on it twice when I was younger. Seemed to work the first time and then it came back bad again so I got on it again and worked alright then acne came back but not as bad as usual but now that I'm outta my early teens my acne has cleared up alot. You get a dry ass mouth tho thats for sure my lips would always crack and be chapped.....sucked hardcore, and the bloodtest were a pain in the arse but least my liver was safe. Go to your doctor and ask him about it

i would not buy that online. I was on it for 6 months. i gradually increased my dose as the months went on. I dont regret goin on it, but it sucked and i dont think it was really worth it. you cant drink alcohol on it, taking supplements prob wouldnt be a good idea while on it too. and it was like 200 bucks a month for the pills(my insurance covered all of it but im sure yours doesnt considering ur trying to buy it online lol)

It is a high dose of vitamin E, so an alternative that might help and save u money would be taking a vitamin E pill everyday.

Also my acne and skin in general is LOTS better when i take a multivitamin every day and drink lots of water daily. when i do these 2 things my skin looks better in like a week, its crazy.

    stay fresh kid

It's about $500 a month with no insurance. $100 a month with it. But the generic accutane was released awhile back and it's only $10/mo (Clavaris, Sotret, Amnesteem). I honestly not even sure if they still sell "Accutane", the actual name of the medicine is isotretinoin. If your thinking about taking it, do it NOW. Don't push it off for years like I did. Waste of money and time on the antibiotics. Carry Burts Bees with you at all times and wear suncreen every single day. No matter what you do that day, put on sunscreen. I looked sunburned for 5 months straight.

    It's actually a derivative of Vitamin A.

They tried to put me on accutane about a year ago. The dermatologist informed me that it could potentially cause birth defects. So I decided not to do it. Not saying it will happen to everyone or even a large amount of people but its proven that the stuff does get into your sperm and based upon all the lawyer commercials I've seen calling on all people who've taken the stuff to sue I wouldn't mess with it. the potential long term effects aren't worth it
