Tall/lanky should fall toward a conventional DL for optimal leverages. The conventional deadlift is probably one of the most awkward movements to teach/learn only beaten by swinging a golf club.
If sticking with sumo, I am worthless, but I would say that the hands should come in more. The arms seem to be rubbing the legs too much. Just drop them straight down from the shoulders.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593

Shit just got real.
I got the straps for this reason-
And the strong bands are more for ab work than anything. My abs ate used to 100-200 reps/week of the avg band.
But I'm sure they'll come in handy for the squat as well. It's time to get some DE work cranking again...
And of course some ammonia caps. That nose tork is for the birds man...

nose tork > ammonia caps
and strong bands are so strong. i only use mini bands and small bands. when theres not enough tension i just use mini + small and thats a bit stronger than average bands but weaker than strong bandsMy training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=129669663

I hope so. ^
I have a video of today's squats, I just don't have access right now as they're on my training partners phone... Maybe if I get it I'll put it up later.*

45x3
135x3
225x2
315x1
365x1
365x1
365x1
These were hard. It felt good to strain against a hard squat. I dont have a clue how much my bands add with my setup, but It felt heavy.
Pull Thru's (Avg Band)-*
3x15
Standing Abs (Avg Band)-
5x15
Bike-
5 min (lol- but I'm in a hurry today... lots to do. Short day @ work + Dr appt. Gonna get a sleep study done. Wait till I start training on actual sleep/oxygen)W

I was excited to try out the Strap Bar, but, I couldn't figure out how to get it right. So, maybe next time I can experiment with it more. Maybe I just had the straps too wide is what I'm thinking now after watching the video.
DE Pause Squat- 3 Doubled orange mini bands per side
45x2
135x2
225x2
275x2
225 lb 4-5x2 <<<video of last set below>>>
Speed Pulls- 2x Orange Short Bands
135x2
225x2
275 lb 4x2
(Actual lifting starts @ 1:45. Before that is my Strap Bar fail. I'm going to show it to Clint and maybe he can show me what I'm doing wrong).
Standing Abs- Avg Band
2x15
I couldn't stand looking at that new Black strong band and not using it, so for my last set I threw on the black band. It wasn't the monster I had made it out to be in my head lol. So, I'm going to start using it for my ab pulldowns.
1x15
It felt good to be doing Dynamic Effort work again. It took me forever to complete this workout today, partially bc it's been a while, and also because of my new workout partner. We were in the gym for an hour and forty-five min today lol. We were talking... plus it was deadlift day for him and he is completely brand new to all of this stuff we're doing, so I've been trying to introduce him to all this stuff. Anyway, we'll get back to the 1 min timer between sets soon enough.Last edited by Black_Spit; 06-29-2012 at 06:20 AM.
