I don't really comment on depth unless I see it in person, but that is the worst possible angle to vid a squat. Impossible to tell anything from that. But I will say, since you mentioned its probably your normal parallel/borderline squat, that a parallel squat is a high squat.

Really not feeling it this morning... At all. Low carbs for 3 days and my motivation fell through the floor. If I can get through this initial tough period, Ill be fine. I've lifted on low carbs before and felt great... After the first couple of weeks. If I hadn't sworn off pre w/o's, it would have been better. But it's worth the trade.*
So I just went for minimum reps today. When I first watched the video, I was pissed at myself. But after pausing at the bottom; meh, I'm ok with it. I know, like mike says, a parallel squat is a high squat. I just don't sweat the small stuff. Good training reps IMO. 3rd rep is the best.*

Rep speed looked great.
When it comes to the depth thing, just work on it during deloads/light(er) weeks or when you reset. I think the worst thing you can do is try to reset or take steps back because of a few borderline squats in training. If they are inches high, sure, you might want to address it immediately, but you're not going to lose that much going down another 1-2 inches. That's just my .02, anyway.www.PowerliftingToWin.com

So, I had a thought on the way home from the gym. I did not DL from Oct/Nov through my meet in Feb bc I kept hurting my back with them. And I made my best progress ever.
I started Dl again roughly after my meet in March and ever since I have been having slow progress, small injuries and getting sick.
This doesn't seem like a coincidence.

I think for a while I'm going to do my 531 days and accessories for bench and squat, and then do a few easy bodybuilding days like today for back, arms etc... That will give me an excuse to do more cardio too bc I always do something after lifting whether it's just the bike or something harder like the sled.

Just be careful with your overall workload. I am not going to spew any overtraining talk, but you want to make sure that you leave some room to add in cardio/conditioning work to supplement caloric drops. If you are training a ton early on, that only leaves caloric drops to continue progress.
I don't disagree with your plan as of now, just speaking from experience here.Strongman Training Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=138026593

Yeah I'll try to balance by reducing the wear-and-tear work. It was remarkable to me how I finished 15 sets today in 30 minutes and felt as fresh as I did before the workout. As opposed to if I had DL'ed. I would have done DL and maybe thrown in some shrugs. It would have taken an hour. And my low back would be sore right now. That's the difference I think between just working the muscle and working up to and dead lifting or squatting 455x5 or whatever.
I'm thinking 531 bench/squat on Mon/Tue, then stuff like today the rest of the week. We'll see how it works out.

Just take the weight loss nice and slow man. I know you're excited about gettin down to around 200, but just gotta take it one step at a time. You'll get there eventually, just need to be patient. Kinda like how my squat sucks ass right now, but I know if I'm patient enough, I can go from being really weak to somewhat weak.

GL with the cut, man. I definitely feel you. Being 250lbs at 5'7" was a "lulwutthe****amidoing" moment for me. Might have been a lot better if I was on the tech and other goodies, but, even then, being over 30% body fat has A LOT of draw backs if you don't have a true super heavyweight's frame.

Squat felt heavy today, and it didn't look so good either lol. I guess that's what happens when a fat guy goes from an unlimited energy source to limiting himself to 3000 or fewer calories in a day. I'll adjust to it. Btw I lied when I said I was starting a ckd last week. But I've been doing a very good job of tracking macros/calories and keeping a deficit.*
Anyway, went up to 460. First rep I'm ok with. Second obviously is 1 or 2 inches high. I need to start filming from the front.
